Abstract

ABSTRACT

Based on Glenn Vater, stated that autism is profound and poorly understood developmental disorder, which severely impairs a person’s abilities, particularly in the areas of language and social relations. Autistic children typically are normal in appearance and physically well developed. Their disabilities in communication and comprehension range from profound to mild. Their most distinctive feature, however - which helps distinguish them from those solely mentally retarded - is that they seem isolated from the world around them. (http/Avww.autism/diagnosed.htm).

This study concerns ١٧ith how the receptive English and Indonesian language learning of autistic children which become another characteristic that differentiates autism from persons with a primary diagnosis of mental retardation is the much greater likelihood that the autistic person will display strange postures, mannerisms, habits, and compulsions. It concerns with the qualitative descriptive research, the data are collected from the utterances of autistic children at ،A Plus’, which are conducted from their natural conversation in language learning. They are analyzed inductively from the participants’ observation, which is done by the researcher herself. As the result, the researcher finds that autistic children utter their words from three factors of language disorder of autistic children; there is articulation, expressive and receptive language disorder to autistic children. Finally, the researcher suggests that further researcher understand deeply about autism language or to analyze on their speech product by using other theories.
