An analysis on figurative language and the messages used in Cinta Ladang Sajadah by D Zawawi Imron

ABSTRACT

There are some reasons that provided for the writer in choosing this topic. By reading the poems we may acquire knowledge about how to appreciate literature, know the background of the poems and messages included in the poems. Therefore, he was interested in analyzing the figurative language and message of D.Zawawi Imron’s poems; since he knows that there are many figurative languages and messages that are used in D.Zawawi Imron’s poems. The writer decided to give the title of this thesis ”An Analysis on Figurative Language and the Messages Used in "Cinta Ladang Sajadah" By D.Zawawi Imron”. The problems of the study are: ،،What kinds of figurative language are used in D.Zawawi Imron’s Poems "Cinta Ladang Sajadah”?””What are the messages found in D.Zawawi Imron’s Poems ”Cinta Ladang Sajadah”?” The objective of the study is to acquire the answer to the question intent to this study and gain better understanding on the content of the poems. The researcher used descriptive qualitative research design because the data of this study are in the form of utterances or words that are not statistically analyzed. To check and recheck the data, triangulation is used in this study.

The result of the study show that in every poem of D.Zawawi Imron’s is found one or more kinds of figurative language, the kinds of figurative language that found are personification, hyperbole, metaphor, simile, irony, allusion, epithet, antithesis, euphemism, parallelism, repetition, climax and anticlimax. The messages used in this study are moral message, social message and religious message.

The researcher suggest for the next researchers who want to analyze the same topic, they are expected to be able to develop this study by using different aspects because there are so many elements that have not been analyzed yet, such as diction, rhythm, sentence meaning and symbolic expression or other book of gathering poems that was written by him. The researcher also hopes that those researchers are also suggested to add the theories from other sources that can support and make the research more complete.
