Abstract
ABSTRACT
Literature is the results of human creation through emotional and imaginative language and usually it describes life. The study of literature can be divided into four kinds; they are novel, poetry, drama, and prose. To study literature is very subjective, since every single person has a different comprehension, interpretation, and impression after reading literary work.
There are some reasons that provided for the writer in choosing this topic. By reading the poems we may acquire knowledge about how to appreciate literature, know the background of the poem and moral value included in the poems. Therefore, he was interested in analyzing the figurative language and moral value of Mustofa Bisri's poems, since he know that there are many figurative languages that are used in Mustofa Bisri’s poems. The writer decided to give the title of this thesis ’1Figurative Language Study On Mustofa Bisri’s Poems In Gandrung”. The problem of the study are what kinds of figurative language are used in Mustofa Bisri's poems?, what is the dominant of figurative language used in Mustofa Bisri's poems?, What are the moral value included in Mustofa Bisri's Poems?.
The objective of this study is to acquire the answer to the question intent to this study and gain better understanding on the content of the poems. The writer limits his study only seven poems because it becomes typically pattern of Mustofa Bisri’s poems.
The second, the writer explains about the theories that are related to the problem of the study. The writer has some book to analyze the study. He also quotes some definition and conclusion.
,The third, the writer explains about methodology of the study. He steps how to obtain and collect all the data to be observed by reading Mustofa Bisri's poems again and again till the writer understand well the content of the poem, selecting some poems which are related to the study, looking for the poem of Mustofa Bisri's poems in Internet To corroborate the data, triangulation used in this study. There are triangulation of data sources and methodological triangulation.
After the data have been collected, they are analyzed in following steps; Categorizing the data into seven categories in accordance with the number of the poems analyzed, presenting and discussing the poems, identifying the figurative language and moral value of each poem and drawing conclusion, making tentative conclusion after presenting and discussing the whole poems.
In the fourth, the writer is presenting the data obtain from the data sources. The data presentation is divided into seven as the following: Sajak Cinta; Sajak Cintaku; Malam Itu; Aku Mengiri; Il hah 2; Cintaku; Diterbangkan Takdir.
The last, the writer makes conclusions and suggestions are as follow: the figurative language of Mustofa Bisri's Poems is more than one figurative language, they are metaphor; personification, repetition, hyperbole, simile, euphemism, and epithet.
He always used some sentences that demand to reader to improve the spiritual relationship without leaving the individual and social relation. He suggests to reader to be religious, patient, and brave and lead a simple. Finally, the writer hopes that the other researcher can analyze the other aspect or side of Mustofa Bisri's Poems like diction, rhythm, theme or other book of gathering poems that was written by him.
