Abstract
ABSTRACT
One of the 1ways to send or convey messages is through media. The most important reason for the advertisers to send the message through such media is for creativity purpose. This is important because without a creativity the messages sent through advertisements will not be interesting.
The problem of this study is ‘،what kinds of creative approach are used in the vacancy advertisement in the Jakarta Post newspaper”. Based on the statement of the problem, the purpose of this study is to describe the kinds of the creative approach are used in vacancy advertisement in the Jakarta Post newspaper.
The descriptive-qualitative research is used to design this study. Because for some reason, those are the data is got from natural setting, the writer herself as an instrument, the data would be descriptively, this study more emphasizes on the process than result, and the study is limited by focusing.
The result of this study shows that there are three kinds of creative approach used in written vacancy advertisement in tire Jakarta Post newspaper. They are the dogmatic approach, the reason why approach, and the emotional approach. From the data analysis can be known that all of the vacancy advertisements use the reason why approach, and the emotional approach. Whereas the dogmatic approach is used in 24,5 % of vacancy advertisements analyzed here.
Some suggestions of the writer are this study can be used as teaching material for teacher of linguistics. The style and the characteristic of language used in advertisement can make a contribution to linguistics. It is also suggested to the students that studying linguistics to achieve in understanding of language. The last suggestion is to the further writers to develop this study by using different object. So they compare the using of language style.
