Abstract
ABSTRACT
Speaking is one of many skills in English. Speaking English is very important in this life, moreover for this present time. English as an international language, is very useful for communication. But sometimes we get difficulty in mastering speaking English. It is caused by some factors of course, and this thesis is to know what factors are.
This thesis uses many theories, need, interest, speaking, the Influence of Early Learning, practical application, the role of environment in language learning, teacher’s role in teaching speaking, punishment, and motivation
As mentioned above that this thesis to know some factors that influence speaking English ability, whether it’s support or obscurement factors. In this thesis, the writer use descriptive quantitative. It means that the writer wants to know how big each factor influence the speaking English ability. Hence the writer use formulation
R = F/N X 100%
In discussion, the data shows that actually most students need and were interested to learn speaking English. So they were motivated to learn speaking English more. Other motivation is punishment. But there were something obscure their effort to make their speaking English well, such as fear of mistake, lazy to learn, not common speak English since childhood, and less practicing English. Less practicing English was because English has not become a habit for them yet. But if they have big motivation they will ignore their bad feeling that obscure their effort to imrove speaking English ability.
From the explanation above, it can be concluded that most students need and were interested to learn to speak English. So they were motivated to learn to speak English more. Other motivation is punishment. But there were something obscure their effort to make their speaking English well, such as fear of mistake, lazy to learn, not common speak English since childhood, and less practicing English. Less practicing English was because English has not become a habit for them yet.
