A Comparative study on Javanese words of Lamongan and Kediri Dialect in Ngoko: Low level

ABSTRACT

This study was started from the observation of the writer toward the Javanese dialect among the people of Lamongan and Kediri in Ngoko (low level), and he purpose of this study is to describe the differences and the similarities Javanese words that they use.

Based on the illustration above and in order that this study was able to be educated systematically, the research problems than formalized as follow : 1. what are the differences between Javanese Words of Lamongan and Keiri dialects especially in meaning, 2. What the similarities between Javanese words of Lamongan and Kediri dialects especially in meaning, 3. what are the characteristic of differences and similarities.

The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative, some theories which have relationship with the problems are used. As foundation of the analysis, the theories are sociolinguistics, language, and variety of language. And the respondents of the study are people of both places with the specific criterion and the data about 200 words.

Base on the study, it was found that the language mostly used by people in both places some time different and some time equal, but all of language are standard words of Javanese. Actually there is no special characteristic of differences and similarities, the writer found out the characteristic of differences among them only in suffix of verb.
