Abstract
ABSTRACT
Kepanjen slang is one of the local languages which exists and develops in that society. It is very unique kind of slang that is used by a great number of the community and family members.
The problems of the study to be discussed are: Who are the nsera/speakers?, What are the types of Kepanjen slang?. How is the process of slang formation?, and How is the sentence formation?.
The writer described the object of the study from the point of view of the usersZspeakers, the type of slang words, the process of slang formation and the sentence formation.
The study is limited to sociolinguistic point of view rather than from the semantics aspect. And she limits her analysis to the Javanese slang living there only.
The instruments involve interview and observation. The informants were teenagers and adults. The data were taken from house to house, places where people loiter, cafes and places for public transportation.
The process of obtaining the data, the writer got interaction in the community of Kepanjen society. She gave them a list of basic words/sentences (a.s source language) to be translated into slang. Then she analyzed the data.
The results of the study ؛ire as follows:
The users of Kepanjen slang are not only teenagers but also adults, old people, and sometimes children, '!'his language used by the public transportation drivers too and the majority of users of Kepanjen slang stay in the central of Kepanjen.
The types of slang words have various kinds, for example, noun can be changed into verb or adjective in slang word. Sometimes, noun, verb, and adjective are not. changed into slang word.
The process of slang formation is the first syllable is always the. same as the basic word and the second syllable is different from the basic word. 'Hie first and the second syllables consist of*two or more letters.
The types of slang sentences sometimes include the sentences consisting of subject, predicate, object, and sometimes consisting of subject only. In this Javanese slang, the article, person, pronoun, negative and question words are not changed into slang language.
