It is one way to express their emotion and feeling in a form ofwords or language By riding novel, one of literary works, people can enrich their experience and some aspects of life.

There are many aspects of novel that can be analyzed, for instance, theme, setting, character, plot, ؛so on. The result 0؛s study shows that the original atttde of Santiago^ brave, confidant, cheerfid, determined, and optimistic; love towards Godot letting anything in life rattle him. ,Three types of Santiago's conflict are psychological conflict for e^amge the Santiago’s suffering such as his loneliness (for he does not have a boy and gdjes alone), having to kill his fish that he regards it as his brother, having goneforeighty-fouraays without takinga fish, and al^people around do not respect him, social conflict h٠ensto Santiago, when the Marlin circles close enough for the old man to spear it with his harpoon, of؛؛: I^nmon, andgh cal؛ he drives in with all the strength he can خ مسي conflicts, Sanag s character changes to be eayo give up, hopeless, and his body was thin and gaunt and his neck is wrinkled from the sun, also his hands bear the scars of many fishing battles, only his blue eyes remain bright and cheerfid.
