Abstract
ABSTRAK
Kegiatan menyimak memiliki peranan penting dalam kehidupan sehari- hari. Demikian pula dalam pengajaran bahasa, keterampilan menyimak memiliki posisi yang cukup urgen, khususnya bagi penutur asing. Namun pada kenyataannya, pegajaran keterampilan menyimak belum mendapatkan perhatian yang layak dalam dunia pendidikan seperti di sekolah. Dari hasil pengamatan awal di Madrasah Ibtida'iyah Nurul Huda Tulangan Sidoarjo, peneliti menemukan bahwa kemampuan siswa dalam hal menyimak (istima') masih di bawah rata-rata. Mereka pada umumnya masih kesulitan dalam menangkap pembicaraan dalam bahasa arab. Mereka juga masih kesulitan membedakan aspek-aspek fonemik dan fonologisnya. Selain itu mereka juga tdak menguasai kosakata yang cukup sehingga mempengaruhi pemahamannya.
Melihat hal tersebut peneliti berinisiatif mengadakan penelitian experimen tentang pengajaran keterampilan menyimak menggunakan media lagu di MI Nurul Huda Tulangan Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini berusaha menjawab rumusan masalah : bagaimanakah pengajaran keterampilan menyimak menggunakan media lagu, serta sejauh mana efektifitas pengajaran keterampilan menyimak melalui media lagu bagi siswa kelas V MI Nurul Huda Tulangan Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk meminimalisir problematika yang ada di madrasah tersebut seputar keterampilan menyimak siswanya.
Dalam pelaksanaannya, peneliti menggunakan desain penelitian eksperimen model one group pretest postest. Peneliti mengajukan hipotesis (Ha) bahwa pegajaran menyimak menggunakan media lagu jauh lebih efektif dibanding tanpa media lagu serta mampu meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam keterampilan menyimak. Sebagai sampel, peneliti membatasi hanya kelas V sejumlah 25 siswa. Untuk mengumplkan data, peneliti menggunakan instrumen wawancara, angket, observasi, dan test. Sedangkan untuk menganalisis data tersebut digunakan teknik Uji T dengan level signifikansi 1 % dan 5 %
Setelah menyelesaikan penelitian ini, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa pengajaran keterampilan melalui media lagu lebih efektif dibanding tanpa media lagu dan terbukti mampu meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam keterampilan menyimak. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh beberapa hal: 1) peningkatan rata-rata hasil tes siswa dari 42,88 saat pretes menjadi 86,72 saat postes. 2) nilai koefisien T yang didapat (4,82) lebih tinggi dari nilai koefisien T pada tabel (2,797 dan 2,064). 3) Ha terbukti dapat diterima sedangkan Ho ditolak.
ABSTRACT
As matter of fact, listening has important role in human life. As for the students, especially for second language learner, listening comprehension has as urgent position in second language teaching program as other language skills. In spite of that, listening comprehension doesn't get proper attentions yet at school. Based on the pre-observation results at Islamic Elementary School Nurul Huda Tulangan Sidoarjo, the researcher found that listening skill of five year's studenst at this school still under averages. They have some difficulties on listening to arabic words, as well as on phonetics and phonemic identifiying. Beside that, they don't get the meaning effectively for their lack of vocabulary.
Therefore, the researcher initiates to solve those problems by doing experimental research about teaching listening comprehension through songs at Islamic Elementary School Nurul Huda Tulangan Sidoarjo. Through ths research, the researcher want to answer the questions; how is the teaching of listening comprehension through songs, and how far the effectiveness of listening comprehension teaching through songs on the five year's student of Islamic Elementary School Nurul Huda Tulangan. This research aims to solve the existed problems in that school.
For this research, the researcher use experimental type with one group pretest postest design based on the hypothesis (Ha) that teaching listening comprehension through song is more effective than without it. The sample which is taken is 25 students of five year's class. To collecting datas, the researcher use some instruments such as interview, questionaire, observation, and test. Then the datas are analyzed by using T-Test with level of significance at 1 % and 5 %.
After completing the research, the researcher conclude the results that the teaching of listening comprehension through songs is more effective, and it can improve the listening skills of five year's student at Islamic Elementary School Nurul Huda Tulangan Sidoarjo. There are several aspect which is desribe the statement above : 1) the rising of test score average from 42,88 in pretest to 86,72 in postest, 2) the T-Coefficient (4,82) is higher than the coefficient on T- Table (2,797 & 2,064), 3) the H0 (teaching listening comprehension through song is less effective than without it) is rejected and Ha (teaching listening comprehension through song is more effective than without it) is accepted.
