Abstract
ABSTRACT
Novel is a long story written in prose that can be considered a work of imagination that is grounded in reality. There are certain forms of novel that can be found in the work of literature. One of them is an autobiographical novel that based on the life of the author.
To get the proof that autobiographical is a novel written based on the autobiographical aspects of the author, Autobiographical aspect of Charlotte Bronte’s life emerge in Jane Eyre is chosen as the subject of the study.
The objectives of the study are to describe what autobiographical aspects of Charlotte Bronte’s life emerge in Jane Eyre and to describe how are autobiographical aspects of Charlotte Bronte’s life emerge in Jane Eyre.
This study uses autobiographical and biographical aspect. It is general approach that will help the researcher to find out view, feeling, perception, experience and thoughts of the author.
The data are taken from the novel that was published from Wordsworth edition of Charlotte Bronte Jane Eyre. This book contains 409 pages and is published by Wordsworth Limited
From the result of data analysis, it can be concluded. There are many autobiographical aspects that can be found in Jane Eyre. They are family, status, religion, character, religion, education, society and love aspect.
Autobiographical aspects are recognizable throughout Jane Eyre emerge frequently in complication but it is very seldom appearing in climax, exposition ,resolution .For example Jane’s experience at lowood school where her best friend was died of tuberculosis, same as the death of Charlotte’s sisters at Cowan Bridge. The hypocritical religious fervor of the headmaster. Mr. Brocklehurst, is based in part on that of the Reverend Carus Wilson, the Evangelical minister who built Cowan Bridge, Charlotte and Jane were in the same experience that becomes a governess
