Abstract
INDONESIA:
Penelitian tentang zeolit sebagai adsorben untuk logam Cu, Fe, dan Pb pada limbah laboratorium kimia UIN Maliki Malang telah dilakukan. Peningkatan aktivitas zeolit dilakukan dengan cara mengaktivasi zeolit alam Malang menggunakan H2SO4 dengan variasi konsentrasi.
Zeolit alam Malang diaktivasi menggunakan H2SO4 1, 3, 5, dan 7 M, sehingga dihasilkan H-zeolit. Karakteristik zeolit meliputi kandungan mineral dengan XRD, kandungan unsur dengan XRF. Hasil aktivasi digunakan untuk mengadsorpsi kadar logam Cu, Fe, dan Pb pada limbah laboratorium. Limbah logam Cu, Fe, dan Pb sebelum dan sesudah diadsorpsi selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan AAS untuk mengetahui kadarnya.
Hasil karakterisasi XRF menunjukkan semakin tinggi konsentrasi H2SO4 ion-ion pengotor semakin berkurang. Hasil XRF juga menunjukkan zeolit alam yang diaktivasi menggunakan H2SO4 3 dan 5 M mengalami dealuminasi. Karakterisasi XRD menunjukkan zeolit alam tidak mengalami perubahan struktur akibat aktivasi meskipun terdealuminasi. Prosentase penurunan kadar Cu dan Pb terbaik ditunjukkan setelah proses adsorpsi menggunakan zeolit alam teraktivasi asam sulfat 7 M yakni 32,86% dan 73,14%. Sedangkan prosentase Fe pada limbah meningkat setelah proses adsorpsi menggunakan zeolit alam teraktivasi asam sulfat 7 M sebesar 44.04%.
ENGLISH:
Research on the zeolite as an adsorbent for Cu, Fe, and Pb in the waste chemical laboratory of UIN Maliki has done. Increased activity of the zeolite is done by activating natural zeolite Malang using H2SO4 with various concentration.
Natural zeolite of Malang was activated by H2SO4 1, 3, 5, and 7 M, so it produces H-zeolite. Zeolite characteristics include mineral content by XRD, and XRF element.The results are used to adsorb the activation levels of Cu, Fe, and Pb on laboratory waste. Before and after adsorbed the metals waste Cu, Fe, and Pb analyzed using AAS to determine levels.
XRF characterization showed that the higher concentration of H2SO4 the less number it’s ions pollutant, and showed dealumination zeolite was activated by H2SO4 3 and 5 M. Characterization XRD showed zeolite does not undergo structural changes as a result of activation using H2SO4 though dealumination. The percentage decreased levels of Cu and Pb best demonstrated after a natural zeolite adsorption process using sulfuric acid 7 M activated which is 32.86% and 73.14%. And percentage of Fe in increased waste after a natural zeolite adsorption process using sulfuric acid 7 M activated of 44.04%.
