The different episode of depression in adolescent-age evaluated from extravert and introvert types of personality

ABSTRACTDepression represents one of the psychosis with high prevalent, especially to adolescent, and it is also universal psychological trouble in character. Depression can happen to every person and almost every person has suffered from deptfession in the spanning of person’s life with certain level of depression. Nevertheless, adolescent has the highest percentage of individual who has a tendency of depression. Every individual has different habit in expressing depression. One of its causes is about personality type had by each individual.
This research aims to know the different episode of depression in adolescent-age evaluated from ekstravert and introvert types of personality. There are 3 matters that will be discussed here related to the matter mentioned above, those: (1) Episode of depression in adolescent-age with ekstravert type of personality, (2) Episode of depression in adolescent-age with introvert type of personality, and (3) The difference episode of depression in adolescent-age evaluated from ekstravert and introvert types of personality.

This research uses quantitative research device. While, the research type used is comparison quantitative research. It is aimed to explain the difference between each research variables, that is episode of depression and type of personalty, and also to test the hypothesis which has been formulated previously by researcher using method of data analyze of one-way Anova, that is to test the existence of difference episode of depression. Population in this research is student of MA. Ihyaul Ulum Dukun Gresik, and the technique of sampling used is random sampling technique with 120 people as sample. Questionnaire method is used to get and gather data in the form of scale of BDI VBeck Depression Inventory^ لاً١طآ ل٧اًة\ (Eysenck Personality Inventory).

The result of analysis shows that Fl، > F،٠/٥٥ (5,139 > 3, 92) in significance
level, that is 0,05 %. We can conclude that there is different episode of depression in significance level evaluated from type of personality. Adolescents with introvert type have a higher level of depression (X = 21, 244) than adolescents with ekstravert type (x٥ 18,467).

This finding is expected to give contribution to educational world, especially for teachers and employees, students, educational institution, academics and practices, and also for the next researchers to get a maximized result in academic achievement by paying attention in the physical, social and psychological conditions of educational members.
