ABSTRACT

The purposes of this thesis are knowing and describing of tithe comprehensively. As the course that closely related to economic issue of society; the concept of tithe in Islam is expected to be the tool to increase low economy of society. It is having by considering togetherness values and welfare of Islamic society.

This study emphasizes on the concepts of tithe that has decorated Islam journey and social values in the concept of tithe. This study is library study (library research), The type of this study uses analysis descriptive and then it is analyzed by using data analysis through inductive, deductive, and comparative methods. The source of data is taken from primary and secondary data source.

The conclusion of this study shows that the concept of tithe in Islam is very productive to be optimized. It is conducted to increase the economy of Islamic people by hold on to economic principle of economy that considers justice, similarity, and maslahah mursalah lil ummah values. Based on that reason, the concept of tithe here more emphasized on the productivity and creativity issue on tithe receiver, not on consumptive behavior on the tithe.
