The data are in the form of sentences taken from the Essential ofthe Islamic Faith and its translation, specially the second and fifth chapter. The researcher collects the data by analyzing and comparing the utterances in those chapters with its Indonesian translation. Next, he categorizes the data based on the translation procedure theories. In term of practicality, he does not present all data, but he takes ten data randomly for each category as representative data.
Data analysis reveals some findings covering the formulated research questions. Structural procedure is procedure, which related to the structure of sentence while semantic procedure is procedure, which related to the meaning of the sentence. In addition, since the researcher analyzes the English text compared with Indonesian, not the other way, he does not find structurally the additional procedure.
Besides, the transposition and modulation procedures are the most common procedures used in the translation, even both may take place in the same time. The data also shows that the translators often use a borrowing procedure, which consists of transliteration and naturalization, when target language has no equivalent for the source language unit.
