Abstract
ENGLISH:
This thesis is a research about contrast the types of interactive metadiscourse markers used in Guardian Australia's TikTok spoken and written news reports. The researcher chose Guardian Australia on the TikTok media platform because it is a media in delivering news through a platform that has developed in recent years. The goals of this study are to figure out the kinds of interactive metadiscourse utilized in spoken and composed news reports in Guardian Australia and to figure out the lsimilarities and contrasts of interactive metadiscourse utilized in spoken and written news reports in Guardian Australia. The method in this research uses descriptive qualitative method. The data in this research are words, phrases and sentences that contain interactive metadiscourse used in Guardian Australia's TikTok spoken and written news report. This research uses the theory of interactive metadiscourse types by Hyland (2005). The author found 66 data consisting of 34 spoken news reports and 32 written news reports. In the spoken news report, there are 14 data of transition, 11 data of frame markers, 5 data of evidential, and 4 data of code glosses. Meanwhile, in the written news report, transition 13 data, endophoric markers 1 data, evidential 13 data and code glosses 5 data were found. The conclusion of the research is that there are 4 types of interactive metadiscourse in spoken news namely transition, frame markers, evidential and code glosses, while in written news there are 4 types namely transition, endophoric, evidential and code glosses. The purpose of this study is to inform readers about the types interactive metadata used in written and spoken news.

Skripsi ini adalah penelitian tentang membandingkan tipe interaktif metadiscourse markers yang digunakan pada Guardian Australia’s TikTok spoken and written news report. Peneliti memilih Guardian Australia pada media platform TikTok karena menjadi media dalam menyampaikan berita lewat platform yang telah berkembang beberapa tahun belakangan ini. Tujuan dari penelitian inin adalah untuk mengetahui tipe tipe interaktif metadiscourse yang digunakan pada Guardian Australia’s TikTok spoken and written news report, untuk mengetahui persamaan dan perbedaan interaktif metadiscouse yang digunakan pada Guardian Australia’s TikTok spoken and written news report. Strategi dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Kata, frasa, dan kalimat yang mengandung metadiscourse interaktif merupakan data dalam penelitian ini. yang digunakan pada Guardian Australia’s TikTok spoken and written news report. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori tipe interactive metadiscourse oleh Hyland (2005). Penulis menemukan 66 data yang terdiri dari 34 berita lisan dan 32 berita tulisan. Di dalam spoken news report ditemukan transition 14 data, frame markers 11 data, evidential 5 data, dan code glosses 4 data. Sedangkan di dalam written news report ditemukan transition 13 data, endophoric markers 1 data, evidential 13 data dan code glosses 5. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian terdapat 4 tipe interaktif metadiscourse pada berita lisan yaitu transition, frame markers, evidential dan code glosses, semenntara itu pada berita tulisan terdapat 4 tipe yaitu transition, endophoric, evidential dan code glosses. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan data kepada pembaca tentang jenis-jenis metadiscourse yang digunakan dalam berita lisan dan tulisan.
