Abstract
INDONESIA:
Pandemi covid-19 memaksa kita semua untuk menggunakan teknologi. Seperti perkuliahan dan kegiatan lainnya yang beralih menjadi virtual. Hal ini tentu menjadi tantangan bagi kita untuk bertahan baik secara fisik maupun psikologis dari pengaruh teknologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan kontribusi teknologi terhadap psikologis manusia dengan memaparkan pengaruh smartphone addiction terhadap perilaku empati selama masa pandemic covid-19 pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Angkatan 2020. Penelitian ini mengambil subjek dari mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi tahun angkatan 2020 yang telah melaksanakan kegiatan perkuliahan secara virtual dan sebagian besar aktivitasnya melibatkan smartphone. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan proses analisis regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: Kategori smartphone addiction Mahasiswa Psikologi Angkatan 2020 Fakultas Psikologi UIN Malang dominan pada kategori sedang menunjukkan presentase 57% pada masa pandemi covid-19. Kategori Empati Mahasiswa Psikologi Angkatan 2020 berada di tingkat rendah dengan dominasi presentase sebesar 75% pada masa pandemi covid-19. Berlandaskan hasil analisa regresi linear sederhana menunnjukkan bahwa nilai signifikansi (Sig.) sebesar 0,175 > probabilitas 0,05, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ho diterima dan Ha ditolak, yang berarti bahwa “Tidak terdapat pengaruh antara Smartphone Addiction terhadap Empati pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi tahun angkatan 2020”.
ENGLISH:
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us all to use technology, such as virtual lectures and other activities. This is certainly a challenge for us to survive both physically and psychologically from the influence of technology. This study aims to prove the contribution of technology to human psychology by examining the influence of smartphone addiction on empathy behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic among students of the Faculty of Psychology, 2020 cohort. This study selected students of the Faculty of Psychology, 2020 cohort, who had attended virtual lectures and most of their activities involved smartphones. This study used a quantitative research method with a simple linear regression analysis process. The results of this study showed that: the category of smartphone addiction of the 2020 cohort students of the Faculty of Psychology at UIN Malang was mostly in the moderate category with a percentage of 57% during the COVID-19 pandemic. The level of empathy of the 2020 cohort students of the Faculty of Psychology was at a low level with a dominant percentage of 75% during the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the results of the simple linear regression analysis, the significance value (Sig.) was 0.175 > probability of 0.05, thus it can be concluded that Ho is accepted and Ha is rejected, which means that "There is no influence of Smartphone Addiction on Empathy among students of the Faculty of Psychology, 2020 cohort".
