Abstract
ABSTRAK
Pendidikan memiliki peranan penting dalam mencerdaskan kehidupan bangsa,salah satu tolak ukur kemajuan bangsa dilihat dari keberhasilan pendidikannya. Ada banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan pendidikan baik faktor internal maupun faktor eksternal. Faktor internal berkaitan dengan diri peserta didik yaitu sehat jasmani dan rohani. Faktor ekternal meliputi keadaan sosial dan non sosial (keadaan udara, waktu, tempat dan alat-alat). Keadaan sosial yaitu kemampuan guru saat menentukan strategi dan menerapkan metode pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, dalam proses pembelajaran perlu adanya variasi dalam pembelajaran salah satunya metode think pair share, metode pembelajaran yang menekankan pada aktifitas belajar siswa dalam berfikir secara individu dan kelompok.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) Menjelaskan perencanan dengan menerapkan metode think pair share untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar mata pelajaran IPS siswa kelas VIIB SMP Al Hidayah Kebonsari Sukun Malang (2) Menjelaskan pelaksanaan metode think pair share untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar mata pelajaran IPS siswa kelas VIIB SMP Al Hidayah Kebonsari Sukun Malang; (3) Menjelaskan peningkatan hasil belajar mata pelajaran IPS setelah diterapkannya metode think pair share di SMP Al Hidayah Kebonsari Sukun Malang.
Untuk mencapai tujuan diatas, digunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan sebanyak tiga siklus Siklus penelitian tindakan kelas diawali dengan perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Instrumen kunci adalah peneliti sendiri dan prosedur pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, tes tulis (pre tes dan pos tes) dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan cara mereduksi data, memaparkan data, dan menarik kesimpulan.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian penerapan metode think pair share, yang diperoleh dari nilai rata-rata pre-test yaitu 62,71 dan pada siklus I rata-rata nilai siswa menjadi 74,33, prosentase peningkatan hasil belajar siswa meningkat sebanyak 18,53% dan pada siklus II hasil belajar siswa juga meningkat, rata-rata siswa pada siklus II ini menjadi 78,86, prosentase peningkatan hasil belajar sebanyak 6,09% bahkan pada siklus III hasil belajar siswa meningkat sangat tinggi, rata-rata nilai siswa menjadi 91,06 menunjukan bahwa prosentase hasil belajar siswa pada siklus III meningkat sebanyak 15,47% dan nilai hasil belajar secara keseluruhan siswa tuntas melebihi KKM yang telah ditetapkan sekolah.
ABSTRACT
Education has crucial role which educates the life of a nation, one of measures thing to measure the development of a nation from the success of its education. There are many factors that influences the successful of education both internal and external factors. The internal factor related to the spiritual and physical condition of participant itself. The external factor covered the social and non-social condition (the condition of weather, time, place, and tools). The social condition is the teacher competence when determines the strategy and applies learning method. Therefore, in the process of learning need the variation in learning, one of them is think pair share, the learning method which emphasizes the student activities of study in thinking individual and group condition.
The purposes of this research are (1) to explain the strategy which applies the think pair share method to increase the output learning of social knowledge lesson in the student of junior high school Al Hidayah Sukun Malang grade VIIB, (2) to explain the implementation of the think pair share method to increase the output learning of social knowledge lesson in the student of junior high school Al Hidayah Sukun Malang grade VIIB, (3) to explain the improvement of the output learning of social knowledge lesson after applied the think pair share method in the junior high school Al Hidayah Sukun Malang.
To reach the purposes above, this research used qualitative approach with kind of classroom action research which implemented in the three cycles. The classroom action research cycle began with planning, action, observation, and reflection. The key instrument is human research instrument. The collection data procedure used observation, interview, written test (pre test and pos test) and documentation. The data analyzed with reduced data, explained data, and presented conclusion.
Based on the result of the application of Think Pair Share method research, it obtained the average score from pre-test is 62,71. In the first cycle, the student average score became 74,33 with percentage of increasing the output learning 18,53%. In the second cycle, the student output learning increased too, the student average score became 78,86 with percentage of increasing the output learning 6,09%. Moreover, in the third cycle, the student output learning highly increased, the student average score became 91,06. It indicated the percentage from the third cycle, the output learning increased 15,47%. In short, the whole score of the output learning showed that the student score totally completed over the KKM (minimum completeness criteria) which set by the school.
