Then, the researcher selected the data related to the problems of the study. At last, the data were arranged systematically in accordance to the problems of the study. To analyze the data, she presented the data, interpreted the data and drew the conclusion. Based on the result and discussion of the data, it can be concluded that from eleven kinds of word formation based on Yule’stheory (1996), there are ten kinds of word formation which exist. Word formation processes found in billboard displayed in Malang are: coinage, borrowing, compounding, blending, clipping, conversion, acronyms, affixation, initialism and acronym and multiple processes. Despite the fact is there is no backformation exist. The numbers of each process are as follows: 25 data of compounding, 6 data of borrowing, 8 data of coinage, 16 data of initialization and 6 data of acronym, 8 data of blending, 14 data of clipping, 2 data of conversion, 7 data of affixation, and 4 data of derivation, and there is no data that point to backformation process.
The researcher concludedthat studying word formation process is important with the purpose of knowing the nature of words genuinely, which lead us to identify how the words are created through its progression. It also happens in the commercial world in which through the advertisements, the advertisers try to do communication with the customers to convey the message they are going to contribute to with the most up to date language. The researcher hopes that this study can give a contribution for the readers, especially the students who are interested in Morphology study. Furthermore, it is suggested for the future researchers who conduct the similar topicto have more complete data and discussion.
