Peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa melalui penggunaan Metode Index Card Match pada mata pelajaran Ips terpadu kelas VII MTS. Plus Madinatul Mubtadi-Ien Kediri

ABSTRAK

Motivasi adalah perubahan energi dalam diri (pribadi) seseorang yang ditandai dengan timbulnya perasaan dan reaksi untuk mencapai tujuan. Memberikan motivasi belajar kepada siswa mutlak diperlukan. Untuk memotivasi belajar siswa terdapat banyak cara yang dapat dilakukan oleh seorang guru, diantaranya dengan menggunakan metode belajar yang kreatif dan menyenangkan, sehingga dapat membangkitkan semangat belajar para siswa. Dengan memberikan motivasi maka anak akan merasa lebih diperhatikan dan dihargai, sehingga pada proses transformasi pengetahuan antara guru dan siswa akan berjalan dengan optimal, para siswa akan semakin semangat untuk belajar sehingga mampu mengikuti proses pembelajaran dengan baik serta memperoleh hasil yang lebih baik. Namun kenyataan yang ada, motivasi dalam mengikuti pembelajaran IPS cenderung rendah. Pemilihan metode yang sesuai adalah salah satu solusi dalam menghadapi persoalan tersebut. Metode Index Card Match adalah metode yang sesuai untuk mengatasi persoalan ini, karena metode ini akan membantu siswa untuk bergerak aktif tidak hanya duduk ditempat atau siswa lebih termotivasi dalam proses pembelajaran.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah; (1) Untuk mengetahui penerapan metode Index Card Match dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS Terpadu kelas VII MTs. Plus Madinatul Mubtadi-ien Kediri; (2) Untuk mendiskripsikan peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS Terpadu melalui penggunakan metode Index Card Match pada kelas VII MTs. Plus Madinatul Mubtadi-ien Kediri.

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Metode pengumpulan datanya menggunakan metode (1) Observasi; (2) Wawancara; (3) Dokumentasi, dimana dalam metode dokumentasi juga terdapat tes evaluasi. Penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga siklus, dengan enam kali pertemuan yaitu dua kali pertemuan pada tiap siklusnya. Dari penelitian tersebut diperoleh hasil yang membuktikan bahwa penggunaan metode Index Card Match dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS Terpadu. Hal ini dapat diketahui pada tiap siklusnya yang selalu mengalami peningkatan yaitu pada siklus I menunjukkan nilai rata-rata 65,49%, naik pada siklus ke II menjadi 79,28 dan naik lagi pada siklus ke III yaitu 87,5%.

ABSTRACT

Motivation is the energy change in (personal) a person who is characterized by the appear of feeling and reaction to achieve the goal. Giving motivation of study to the students are absolutely necessary. To motivate students to learn there are many ways that can be done by a teacher, such as by using the method of creative learning and fun, so can raise spirit the students to learn. By giving motivation, so the students will be feel more cared and appreciated, so the process of transformation of knowledge between teacher and students will run optimally, the students will be more eager to learn so that they can follow the learning process as well as obtaining better results. But the reality is that the motivation in the following study Social Sciences tends to be low. Selection of the appropriate method is one of the solutions to solve this problem. Index Card Match method is an appropriate method to resolve this problem, because this method will help students to actively move, not just sit on place or students more motivated in the learning process.

The purpose of this research are; (1) To determine the application of Index Card Match method in increasing students' motivation of study on Integrated Social Sciences Subject class VII of Islamic Junior High School Plus Madinatul Mubtadi- ien Kediri; (2) To describe the improvement of student’s motivation of study on Integrated Social Sciences Subject through Index Card Match Method in class VII of Islamic Junior High School Plus Madinatul Mubtadi-ien Kediri.

This research use a qualitative research approach by the type of Classroom Action Research (CAR). The method which is used in data collection method, are (1) observation; (2) Interview; (3) Documentation, which also in the documentation method contain evaluation test. This research consist of three cycles, with six sessions: two sessions at each cycle. From these researches are obtained results which prove that the use of Index Card Match method can increase students' motivation of study on Integrated Social Science subject. This can be seen in each cycle which always increase, in the first cycle shows that the average value is 65.49%, an increase in cycle II to be 79.28% and rise again on the third cycle is 87.5%.
