Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study investigates talk about comparative study on suprasegmental phonemes in English speaker between native and non native speaker teachers in BSNP. The object of this study is to understand how far comparative study on suprasegmental phonemes between them.Suprasegmental phonemes theory has been investigated by many experts in the world. And how to minimize misunderstanding between native and non native speaker teachers.

The data were obtained that many utterance are the same utterances but different speakers that they have spoken English in many utterance is similar and different because they have different background.

The common similarities of English native speaker teachers utterance and Non native teachers utterance are in the stressing. Both English native speaker teachers and non native speaker teachers stress function word; determiners, auxiliary verb, preposition, and conjunction with weak stress. Then the differences of stressing of their utterances are in the way of their pronunciations and junctures.

In this thesis, there searcher uses descriptive qualitative research since he tries to describe and explain the phenomena of comparative study on suprasegmental phonemes in English speech between native and non native speaker teachers.
