Abstract
ABSTRACT
To increasing the quality of education, improvement is needed improvements in education, which is closely associated with an increase in the quality of teaching and learn some vital lessons of operational processes that take place in the classroom. Therefore, we need a strategy and appropriate methods in teaching and learning so that students do not have difficulty in learning and the learning objectives of each student can be achieved.
The goal of this research is: 1) To describe the process of learning plan by using simulation learning method role play type to enhance students’ achievement in social science subject in 8th B Grade at SMPN 13 Malang. 2) To describe the process of learning implementation by using simulation learning method role play type to enhance students’ achievement in social science in 8th B Grade at SMPN 13 Malang. 3) To describe the process of learning assessment (process and outcome) by using simulation learning method role play type to enhance students’ achievement in social science subject in 8th B Grade at SMPN 13 Malang.
This research is a class action, which uses descriptive and qualitative approach. Methods of data collection using the method of observation, interviews, documentation, and test results.
Results of research conducted showed that the application of simulation learning methods type of role play to improve student achievement in social studies class 8 b SMP 13 Malang effective. It looks liveliness and enthusiasm of students in participating in learning social studies, in addition, the learning outcomes of the three cycles do seem to see increasing student learning, because the average of score of each post test cycle is always increasing. The score average of the first cycle 69, cycle II 76.97, 83.35 III cycle. The percentage increase in the value of the students in the first cycle of 6%, in the second cycle of 7.97%, in the third cycle of 8%, this means the application of simulation learning method type role play can improve student achievement.

Untuk meningkatakan mutu pendidikan, diperlukan peningkatan penyempurnaan dalam pendidikan, yang berkaitan erat denganpeningkatan mutu proses belajara mengajar secara operasional yang berlangsung didalam kelas. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan suatu strategi dan metode yang tepat dalam proses belajar mengajar agar siswa tidak mengalami kesuliatn dalam belajar dan tujuan pembelajaran setiap siswa dapat tercapai.
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) untuk menjelaskan proses perencanaan pembelajaran menggunakan metode pembelajaran simulasi tipe role playing pada mata pelajaran IPS dikelas 8 b SMPN 13 Malang. 2) untuk menjelaskan pelaksanaan penerapan metode pembelajaran simulasi tipe role playing untuk meningkatakan prestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS kelas 8b SMPN 13 Malang. 3) untuk mengetahui hasil dari penggunaan metode pembelajaran simulasi tipe role playing untuk meningkatakan prestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS kelas 8b SMPN 13 Malang.
Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas, yang menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan datanya menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan hasil test.
Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan, bahwa penerapan metode pembelajaran simulasi tipe role play untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS kelas 8 b SMPN 13 Malang berjalan efektif. Hal ini terlihat keaktifan dan antusias siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran IPS, selain itu, hasil belajar dari ketiga siklus dilakukan tampak terlihat peningkatan belajar siswa, karena nilai rata-rata post test tiap siklus selalu meningkat. Nilai rata-rata siklus I 69, siklus II 76,97, siklus III 83,35. Prosentase peningkatan nilai siswa pada siklus I sebesar 6%, pada siklus II sebesar 7,97%, pada siklus III sebesar 8%, ini berarti penerapan metode pembelajaran simulasi tipe role play mampu meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa.
