Abstract
ABSTRACT
Metaphor is the way of conveying ideas which is used by the speakers to persuade and convince the listeners through the use of conceptual metaphor. To capture this view of metaphor, the speakers need to comprehend metaphor through conceptual domains. Conceptual metaphor is one of the ways to understand metaphor through conceptual domains by structuring one conceptual domain in terms of another one.
This study investigates the conceptual metaphor used by Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at international event. The researcher needs to answer the conceptual metaphor used by Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in his keynote address. The researcher selects the speech as the object of the study because it certainly contains eight conceptual metaphors. The researcher wants to explore the conceptual metaphor of the keynote address based on Lakoff and Johnson's theory.

Finally, the researcher concludes the result of the analysis on conceptual metaphor.
