Upaya Keluarga Pekerja Seks Komersial dalam membangun keluarga harmonis - kasus di Bratang Tangkis PDAM kel. Ngagelrejo kec. Wonokromo Surabaya

ABSTRACT

Stigma that is given from community to the Commercial Sex Worker (PSK) who live in Bratang Tangkis PDAM area, the plain of Jagir Wonokromo River Surabaya, causes their effort to leave that work become more difficult. Both they considered as dirty people physically and also underestimate them. As social creature PSKs also have instinct as human being to have good, peaceful, happy and harmonic family. Even in our community there are some people who work in the prostitution world because they must support the people whom they loved (men, women, parents, spouse, and children). Although they get social discrimination, but in fact they must sell their body to get earning for their beloved family.

With used qualitative research type and paradigm of Phenomenology, also doing sociologic approach. This research was purposed to know how point of view of Commercial Sex Worker s family in developing the harmonic family and the efforts that was done to create that harmonic condition. While in fact almost all of commercial sex worker who live in Kampung Bratang Tangkis PDAM, plain of Jagir Wonokromo River Surabaya, nurture their family harmoniously, although they have children in there, and although the must struggle with the profession as commercial sex worker.

The result obtained from the research indicated that they have understood the
meaning of harmonic family namely happy family, harmonious and understanding one another to decrease the pressure in their environment. But sometime their effort in the objective creating harmonic family was contrast with happy and harmonious family life principles. Because they have economic pressure from family, thereby what they do as commercial sex worker was as also as the effort to create harmonic family, although there were other sector that must be neglected, such as family health, family religion, family education, and it was not close the opportunity that their environment could break the social relation between family.
