Abstract
ABSTRAK:
Neurodegeneratif merupakan gangguan yang terjadi pada saraf karena berkurangnya jumlah sel neuron dan menyebabkan disfungsi sistem saraf. Neurodegeneratif dapat disebabkan salah satunya oleh keadaan defisiensi estrogen. Salah satu upaya untuk mengatasi defisiensi estrogen adalah dengan memanfaatkan fitoestrogen. Semanggi (Marsilea crenata Presl.) diketahui mengandung senyawa fitoestrogen sehingga
berpotensi memiliki aktivitas neuroprotektif. Semanggi diformulasikan dalam bentuk sediaan nanoemulsi karena tingkat penyerapan bahan herbal lebih besar dalam ukuran
nano. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini yaitu membuktikan karakteristik dan stabilitas fisik sediaan nanoemulsi ekstrak etanol 70% daun semanggi memenuhi persyaratan yang
baik. Ekstrak etanol 70% daun semanggi diformulasikan dalam 5 formula dengan variasi konsentrasi 10, 25, 50, 75 dan 100 ppm. Adapun karakteristik yang diamati yaitu organoleptis, tipe emulsi, pH, ukuran partikel, indeks polidispersitas, zeta potensial dan % transmitan. Stabilitas fisik sediaan diketahui dengan metode cycling test selama 6 siklus
dan diamati organoleptis serta pH sediaan. Hasil yang didapatkan yaitu sediaan nanoemulsi berwarna kuning jernih dengan tipe emulsi oil in water, rentang nilai pH
7,19-7,26, rentang ukuran partikel 12,78-13,05 nm, rentang indeks polidispersitas 0,020-0,063, rentang zeta potensial 23,13-48,36 mV dan rentang persen transmitan 99,5-99,8 %.
Pada pengujian stabilitas fisik didapatkan hasil organoleptis sediaan kuning jernih dan stabil namun pada pH didapatkan adanya pergeseran pH yang menunjukkan sediaan tidak stabil. Berdasarkan data hasil tersebut disimpulkan bahwa 5 formula nanoemulsi ekstrak etanol 70% daun semanggi tidak seluruhnya memenuhi persyaratan karakteristik sediaan
nanoemulsi yang baik. Berdasarkan stabilitas fisiknya, 5 formula nanoemulsi ekstrak etanol 70% daun semanggi memenuhi persyaratan stabilitas fisik yang baik menurut organoleptis tetapi tidak memenuhi persyaratan stabilitas fisik yang baik menurut pH.
ABSTRACT:
Neurodegenerative disease is a disorder that occurs in the nerves due to reduced number of neuron cells and causes nerve cells dysfunction. Neurodegenerative diseases can be
caused by an estrogen deficiency. One effort to overcome estrogen deficiency is to utilize phytoestrogens. Semanggi (Marsilea crenata Presl. ) is known to contain phytoestrogen
compounds that have the potential to have neuroprotective activity. M. crenata is formulated in a nanoemulsion dosage form because the absorption rate of herbal ingredients is greater in nano scale. The aim of this study was to prove the characteristics and physical stability of nanoemulsion preparations of 70% ethanol extract of M. crenata leaves which fulfilled good requirements. 70% Ethanol extract of M. crenata leaves are formulated in 5 formulas with varying concentrations of 10, 25, 50, 75 and 100 ppm. The observed characteristics were organoleptic, emulsion type, pH, particle size, polydispersity index, zeta potential and percent transmittance. The physical stability of the preparation is known by cycling test method for 6 cycles and observing the organoleptic properties and pH of the preparation. The results obtained were clear yellow
nanoemulsion with oil in water emulsion type , pH value range 7,19-7,26, particle size range 12,78-13,05 nm, polydispersity index range 0,020-0,063, zeta potential range
23,13-48,36 mV and the range of percent transmittance is 99,5-99,8 %. In the physical stability test, the organoleptic results of the yellow preparation were clear and stable, but at pH, there was a shift in pH that indicated that the preparation was unstable. Based on
these results, it was concluded that the 5 formulas of nanoemulsion preparation of 70% ethanol extract of M. crenata leaves did not fully meet the requirements for the
characteristics of a good nanoemulsion preparation. Based on their physical stability, 5 formulas of nanoemulsion preparation of 70% ethanol extract of M. crenata leaves meet
the requirements of good physical stability according to the organoleptic but did not meet the requirements of good physical stability according to pH.
