Abstract
ABSTRAK
Kompetensi guru merupakan perpaduan antara kemampuan personal, keilmuan, teknologi, sosial, spiritual yang secara kaffah membentuk kompetensi standar profesi guru. Standar kompetensi guru mencangkup penguasaan materi, pemahaman terhadap peserta didik, pembelajaran yang mendidik, pengembangan pribadi dan profesionalisme. Penguasaan materi meliputi: pemahaman karakteristik dan substansi ilmu, penggunaan metodologi, penyesuaian substansi dengan tuntutan kurikuler dan pemahaman manajemen pembelajaran. Hal ini menjadi penting, sebab dengan penguasaan profesionalisme, guru dapat menetapkan dan mengembangkan alternatif strategi sumber belajar yang mendukung pembentukan Standar Kompetensi dan Kompetensi Dasar (SKKD). Kompetensi-kompetensi dasar inilah, yang terkadang belum dimiliki oleh guru belum lulus sertifikasi akibat perbedaan forum-forum diklat keguruan yang diberikan seperti yang terjadi di SMP Wahid Hasyim Malang.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk: (a) mengetahui dan mengidentifikasi kompetensi guru pra sertifikasi di SMP Wahid Hasyim Malang; dan (b) mengetahui dan mengidentifikasi kompetensi guru pasca sertifikasi di SMP Wahid Hasyim Malang. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif. Populasi, seluruh guru yang sudah lulus sertifikasi, pengelola dan atau kepala sekolah SMP Wahid Hasyim Malang yang berjumlah 9 orang dan sampel diambil secara total sampling.
Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa: (1) kompetensi guru pra sertifikasi di SMP Wahid Hasyim Malang, tercermin dalam kurangnya pemahaman terhadap empat kemampuan profesional guru yang meliputi: aspek kreativitas, model pembelajaran, tugas dan fungsi profesi serta kedisiplinan (istiqomah) dalam menjalankan tugas profesi sebagai guru; dan (2) kompetensi guru pasca sertifikasi di SMP Wahid Hasyim Malang, terlihat dalam kemampuan memahami aspek- aspek proses pembelajaran, meliputi: penguasaan terhadap materi yang diajarkan, memahami kondisi dan tahap-tahap tumbuh kembang peserta didik, menguasai cara, model dan teknik pembelajaran melalui penggunaan media-media Informasi Teknologi (IT), serta pengembangan diri dan profesionalisme yang terus berlangsung sejalan dengan terpenuhinya gaji profesi.
Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi guru adalah syarat mutlak untuk menjadi guru profesional, yang diberikan melalui forum-forum diklat pendidikan dan pembelajaran saat proses sertifikasi, dan program sertifikasi guru ternyata cukup efektif dalam membentuk watak dan kepribadian guru-guru yang lebih bijaksana, memiliki keluhuran akhlak dan kematangan profesional.
ABSTRACT
Competence of teachers is a blend of personal, scientific, technological, social and spiritual those form standards of Teacher competency perfectly. Standards of teacher competence includes mastery of the material, understanding of learners, learning that educates, personal development and professionalism. Mastery of the material include: understanding the nature and substance of science, methodology, adjusting to the demands of curricular substance and understanding of learning management. This becomes important because of the professionalism, teachers can establish and develop learning strategies that support the formation of Competency Standards and Basic Competence. These basic competencies are not owned by the teachers who have not passed the certification, as a result of participation in teacher training forums provided in Junior High School Wahid Hasyim Malang.
The purpose of this study were to: (a) understanding and identifying pre- certification of Teachers competence in Junior High Scholl Wahid Hasyim Malang, and (b) understanding and identifying the post-certification of teachers competence in Junior High Scholl Wahid Hasyim Malang. The design study is a qualitative research method. Its population is all teachers who have passed the certification, the manager and The head Master of the junior high school Wahid Hasyim Malang, amounting to 9 people, and samples were taken in total sampling.
The study found that: (1) pre-certification of Teacher competence in Junior High Scholl Wahid Hasyim Malang less understanding of the four teachers' professional skills that include: aspects of creativity, learning models, duties and functions of the profession and discipline (istiqomah) in carrying out professional duties as teachers. (2) post-certification of teachers competence in Junior High Scholl Wahid Hasyim Malang seen in the ability to understand an aspects of the learning process that includes: mastery of the material being taught, to understand conditions and stages of development of learners, master in manner, models and techniques of learning through the use of Information Technology (IT), as well as personal development and professionalism that continues in line with the fulfillment of professional salaries.
Research shows that teacher competence is a prerequisite to become professional teachers who are given training through educational forums and learning during the certification process. Teacher certification programs were quite effective in shaping the character and personality of teachers who are wiser, have a nobility of character and professional maturity.
