Abstract

Abstract:

The incidence of bleeding in Indonesia is said to be high, less than 99% of all maternal deaths are found in developing countries and about 80% of maternal deaths are due to increased complications during pregnancy, delivery and after delivery. Several studies have shown that pregnant women who experience anemia and are not treated until the end of pregnancy will have an effect on delivery, so that it can cause postpartum hemorrhage which results in maternal death. This study aims to analyze the relationship between anemia and postpartum hemorrhage at Karsa Husada Hospital, Batu City in 2018-2020. The research design is an observational cross-sectional observation method, the total population of the research subjects who have quantity and characteristics, the number of samples of mothers giving birth, the sampling technique using total sampling. The independent variable is anemia in pregnancy, the dependent variable is the incidence of postpartum hemorrhage. Collecting data using medical record data, data analysis using chi square statistical test with a value of a = 0.05. The results showed that of 44 women giving birth, most of them experienced anemia (hb level <11 g/dl) during pregnancy, namely 34 women giving birth (54.0%), and of 63 women giving birth, most of them experienced postpartum hemorrhage, namely 44 (69.0%). The results of statistical tests usingchi square with a value of a = 0.05, the results of the value (p) = 0.000, so thatthe value (p) <a (0.000 < 0.05), which means that H0 is rejected and H1 isaccepted, that is, there is The relationship between anemia and the incidence of postpartum hemorrhage at Karsa Husada General Hospital, Batu City. In order to reduce the incidence of postpartum hemorrhage, it is hoped that maternal mothers can prevent anemia during pregnancy, namely by consuming foods that contain lots of protein such as meat, liver, eggs, vegetables, folic acid (vitamin C) and consuming Fe tablets regularly. as well as the correct way of drinking as needed
