Abstract
INDONESIA:
Sibling rivalry merupakan pola hubungan saudara yang muncul karena rasa cemburu yang seringkali berasal dari rasa takut dikombinasikan dengan rasa marah karena adanya ancaman terhadap harga diri seseorang dalam hubungan saudara (Wallace, 2012). Sibling rivalry dapat diperlihatkan dengan perilaku- perilaku yang bersifat agresi dan regresi (Maiorano, 2010). Sibling rivalry sangat beresiko terjadi pada anak dengan jarak kelahiran dekat (Hurlock,1992). Berdasarkan hal tersebut, peneliti menggali lebih dalam bagaimana dinamika sibling rivalry pada anak kesundulan.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan menggunakan wawancara dan observasi. Dan uji kredibilitas data dengan trianguasi data melalui wawancara dan observasi. Serta triangulasi sumber dimana peneliti menjadikan subjek serta informan yaitu ibu subjek sebagai sumber data penelitian. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 4 anak atau 2 sibling dengan usia 4-7 tahun. Masing-masing sibling memiliki jarak lahir kurang dari tiga tahun.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masing-masing sibling mengalami persaingan. Bagaimana bentuk perilaku bersaing sibling berkorelasi dengan motif bersaing itu sendiri. Motif bersaing sibling yaitu mencari perhatian orang tua dan mendapat penilaian social yang baik. Adapun perilaku yang dimunculkan adalah agresi baik fisik maupun verbal, dominansi, mencari kesalahan saudara. Muncul tidaknya sibling rivalry dipengaruhi oleh factor protektif dan factor resiko sibling rivalry. Dukungan dan peran orang tua juga diperlukan guna meminimalisir terjadinya sibling rivalry.

Sibling rivalry is a pattern of sibling relationships that arise due to jealousy that often stem from fear combined with anger because of the threat to the dignity of a person in the relationship (Wallace, 2012). Sibling rivalry can be demonstrated by behaviors that are aggression and regression (Maiorano, 2010). Sibling rivalry is very risky in children with close birth spacing (Hurlock, 1992). Based on this, the researcher analyze deeper into how the dynamics of sibling rivalry in children with close birth spacing. This study used a qualitative methodology with a case study approach. Used data collection techniques used interviews and observations. And test the credibility of the data was with the triangulation of data through interviews and observations. And triangulation of sources where researcher made the subject as well as the informant was the mother of the subject as a source of research data. Research Subjects was numbered of 4 children or 2 siblings with 4-7 years old. Each sibling had a distance born less than three years.
The results showed that each of sibling rivalry experienced competition. How the shape of competitive behavior correlated with the aims of competition itself. The wish of sibling was looking for parental attention and got good social assessment. The behavior that emerged was both physical and verbal aggression, dominance, finding fault sibling. Appearing of Sibling rivalry was affected by protective factors and risk factors for sibling rivalry. Support and role of parents was also required in order to minimize sibling rivalry.
