Abstract
INDONESIA:
Pendidikan karakter menjadi isu utama dalam kurikulum 2013. Bahkan di antara alasan utama perubahan kurikulum 2013 adalah alasan karakter, karena dewasa ini wajah pendidikan Indonesia tercoreng dengan banyaknya kejadian seperti tindak kriminal, bully, penganiayaan, penggunaan narkoba, pemerkosaan, pencabulan, sampai dengan pembunuhan, yang ironisnya banyak terjadi pada usia pelajar, sehingga pendidikan karakter menjadi sebuah langkah penting guna mencegah kejadian negatif tersebut. Bahkan jauh sebelum kurikulum 2013 bergulir dan diterapkan, pendidikan karakter telah ramai dibicarakan. Maka jadilah pendidikan karakter sebagai program pendidikan nasional yang dikemas kembali melalui kurikulum 2013.
Tujuan penelitian untuk: 1) Mendeskripsikan upaya guru IPS dalam mengimplementasikan pendidikan karakter pada kurikulum 2013 di MTsN Kanigoro Kediri, 2) Mendeskripsikan kendala guru IPS dalam mengimplementasikan pendidikan karakter pada kurikulum 2013 di MTsN Kanigoro Kediri. 3) Mendeskripsikan dampak implementasi pendidikan karakter pada kurikulum 2013 terhadap siswa di MTsN Kanigoro Kediri.
Untuk mencapai tujuan di atas, digunakan pendekatan penilitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Instrumen kunci adalah peneliti sendiri, Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan cara mereduksi data, memaparkan data dan menarik kesimpulan. Pengecekan keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi Teknik dan triangulasi sumber.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, 1) upaya guru dalam mengimplementasikan pendidikan karakter pada kurikulum 2013 dilakukan melalui proses perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Penanaman karakter dilakukan melalui pembiasaan, keteladanan, dan pemberian motivasi. Sedangkan evaluasi sikap dilakukan dengan cara observasi yang dilakukan oleh pendidik. Pendidikan karakter juga dilakukan melalui kegiatan di luar kelas yang cenderung lebih pada karakter peduli lingkungan. 2) kendala yang dialami guru IPS dalam mengimplementasikan pendidikan karakter pada kurikulum 2013, yakni: pertama, kemampuan siswa yang bervariasi. Kedua, penguasaan nilai-nilai karakter dari pendidik yang bervariasi. Ketiga, faktor diluar madrasah seperti lingkungan keluarga, lingkungan masyarakat, dan media massa/internet. 3) dampak implementasi pendidikan karakter pada kurikulum 2013 yakni terbentuknya siswa yang religius, bertanggung jawab, disiplin, peduli lingkungan dan toleransi.

Character education is a major issue in the curriculum of 2013. Even the main reasons of curriculum change in 2013 is the character, because today is the face of education Indonesia tarnished by the high incidence, such as crime, bullying, assault, drug use, rape, sexual abuse, the murder, which ironically occurred at the age of students, so that character education become an important step to prevent such negative events. Even long time, before curriculum 2013 applied, character education has been busy talking. Then it becomes a character education as a national education program that repackaged through the curriculum 2013.
The research purposes were: 1) to describe the efforts of teachers in implementing character education of the curriculum IPS 2013 in MTsN Kanigoro Kediri, 2) Describe the constraints of IPS teachers in implementing character education of the curriculum 2013 in MTsN Kanigoro Kediri. 3) Describe the impact of the implementation character education of the curriculum 2013 at students of Kanigoro Kediri.
To achieve the objective above, qualitative research approach was used with case study. The key instrument was the researcher, data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed by reducing the data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of the data used triangulation techniques and triangulation of sources.
The results showed that, 1) the efforts of teachers in implementing character education of the curriculum 2013 based on the characters were done through the process of planning, implementation, and evaluation. Development was done through character habituation, exemplary, and motivation. The attitude evaluation was done by the observation that was made by educators. Character education was also done through activities outside of the classroom tended to be more on the character of environmental concern. 2) Constraints experienced teachers in implementing character education of the curriculum 2013 of IPS based on the characters, namely: first, the varied ability of students. Second, the varied mastery of character values of educators. Third, environmental factors beyond the madrassa like family, society, and the media / internet. 3) The impact of the implementation character education of the curriculum 2013 based on the character formatted of students' religious, responsible, disciplined, environment concern and tolerance.
