Abstract
ABSTRAK:
Danau Ranu Grati Pasuruan merupakan danau alami yang kaya akan organisme perairan, salah satunya tumbuhan yang dapat digunakan sebagai biomassa adalah Hydrilla verticillata. Hydrilla verticillata memiliki kemampuan dalam mengakumulasi logam tembaga (Cu) dalam tubuhnya. Kandungan selulosa yang terdapat dalam Hydrilla verticillata dapat dimanfaatkan dengan adanya gugus hidroksil (-OH) yang memiliki kemampuan mengikat logam berat seperti logam tembaga (Cu).
Tahapan penelitian ini meliputi preparasi biosorben Hydrilla verticillata: demineralisasi menggunakan HCl 0,1 M aktivasi menggunakan asam sitrat I M: penentuan kinetika adsorpsi logam Tembaga (Cu), pengaruh pH terhadap adsorpsi logam Tembaga (Cu), dan karakterisasi Hydrilla verticillata menggunakan FTIR.
Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan kinetika adsorpsi logam tembaga (Cu) oleh adsorben Hydrilla verticillata termodifikasi asam sitrat mengikuti kinetika adsorpsi orde satu dengan nilai R2 0,9931 dan kapasitas adsorpsi maksimum 3,280 mg/g.. Berdasarkan spektra IR menunjukkan munculnya gugus baru setelah proses modifikasi, yaitu gugus ester pada bilangan gelombang 1732,90 cm-1 yaitu gugus ester yang menambah gugus aktif adsoben sehingga meningkatkan kapasitas adsorpsi.
ABSTRACT:
Lake Ranu Grati Pasuruan is a natural lake that is rich in aquatic organisms, one of which plants that can be used as biomass is Hydrilla verticillata. Hydrilla verticillata has the ability to accumulate copper metal (Cu) in the body. The cellulose content contained in Hydrilla verticillata can beutilized in the presence of hydroxyl groups (-OH) which have the ability to bind heavy metals such as copper metal (Cu).
The stages of this research included the preparation of Hydrilla verticillata biosorbent: demineralization using 0.1 M HCl activation using I M citric acid: determination of copper (Cu) metal adsorption kinetics, the effect of pH on copper (Cu) metal adsorption, and characterization of Hydrilla verticillata using FTIR.
The results of this study stated the kinetics of copper metal adsorption (Cu) by adsorbent Hydrilla verticillata modified with citric acid following the first order adsorption kinetics with R2 value 0,9931 and maximum adsorptioncapacity of 3,280 mg / g. the ester at wave number 1732,90 cm-1 is the ester group which adds to the active group of adsobent there by increasing the adsorption capacity.
