Abstract

INDONESIA:

Media pembelajaran yang tepat dapat membantu anak memahami konsep pelajaran dan mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Pernyataan tersebut juga didukung oleh toeri Jean Piaget, yang menyatakan bahwa anak antara umur 7-11 tahun memiliki operasi-operasi logis yang dapat diterapkan pada masalah-masalah konkrit dan anak belum dapat berurusan dengan hal-hal abstrak. Penggunaan media pengajaran juga berkaitan dengan tahapan berpikir tersebut sebab melalui media pengajaran hal-hal yang abstrak dapat dikonkretkan, dan hal-hal yang kompleks dapat disederhanakan. Penelitian dan pengembangan ini dilatar belakangi oleh belum tersedianya media pembelajaran pada materi pengukuran bangun datar kelas IV di MI Al Mufidah Wongsorejo serta proses pembelajaran yang masih menggunakan metode menghafal rumus yang menjadikan peserta didik mudah lupa dan kurang memahami konsep pengukuran bangun datar.

Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut, tuujuan penelitian dan pengembangan ini adalah untuk mengetahui kelayakan media puzzle pada konsep pengukuran bangun datar terhadap pemahaman siswa kelas IV MI Al Mufidah Kecamatan Wongsorejo Kabupaten Banyuwangi dan hasil penggunaan media puzzle pada konsep pengukuran bangun datar terhadap pemahaman siswa kelas IV MI MI Al Mufidah Kecamatan Wongsorejo Kabupaten Banyuwangi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan terhadap media puzzle berdasarkan pada langkah-langkah pengembangan Arief S. Sadiman. Analisa hasil penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisa deskriptif untuk data kualitatif, sedangkan untuk analisa data kuantitatif menggunakan rumus rata-rata, prosentase kelayakan, dan uji t.

Hasil penelitian dan pengembangan ini memperoleh prosentase kelayakan sebesar 77,14% dari ahli isi materi pelajaran, 81,54% dari ahli desain media pembelajaran, dan 88,57% dari guru mata pelajaran matematika kelas IV MI Al Mufidah Wongsorejo. Sedangkan, hasil penggunaan media puzzle memperoleh rata-rata pre test dan post test yaitu 45,56 < 73,70 dan berdasarkan analisis uji t, hasil yang diperoleh signifikan dengan adanya perbedaan antara sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan media puzzle (H1), sehingga H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak, karena ttabel < thitung yakni 2,056 < 9,045.

ENGLISH:

An appropriate learning media can help children understand the concept of learning and achieve the learning objectives. The statement was also supported by the theory of Jean Piaget, which states that children between 7-11 years of age have the logical operations that can be applied to concrete problems and those may not be able to deal with the abstract things. The use of teaching media also associated with the stage of thinking since getting through teaching media, abstract things can be, then, concretized, and any complex things can be simplified. This study and development are motivated by the unavailability of instructional media on the material of flat model measurement of the fourth grade at MI Al Mufidah Wongsorejo as well as the learning process that has been still using the method of memorizing formulas that bored the students and only have short term memory of it and do not understand the concept of the flat model measurement.

Based on this background, the objectives of the research and the development are to know the feasibility of the media puzzle on the concept of the flat model measurement towards the understanding of grade IV of MI (Elementary School) Al Mufidah Wongsorejo, Banyuwangi and the results of media puzzle in used on the concept of the flat model measurement towards the understanding of fourth grade students of MI (Elementary School) Al Mufidah Wongsorejo District of Banyuwangi. This type of research is research and development of media puzzle based on the development steps of Arief S. Sadiman. The result analysis of the research is using descriptive analysis technique for qualitative data, while for the quantitative data analysis, the researcher uses the average formula, percentage of eligibility, and the t test.

The results of these research and development have obtained the feasibility percentage for 77.14% of the content expert of subject matter, 81.54% of instructional media design experts, and 88.57% of math teachers of fourth grade MI (Elementary School) Al Mufidah, Wongsorejo. Meanwhile, the result of the media puzzle in used has obtained the average pre-test and post-test for 53.33 <70.74 and based on the t test analysis, the significant results were obtained with the difference existences between before and after using the media puzzle (H1), so that H1 was accepted and H0 is rejected, because t table < t count were 2.056 <9.045
