Abstract
ABSTRACT:
Cadaver is the main anatomy learning media. The embalming fluid used for cadavers often only keeps the cadavers alive but does not prevent fungal growth. Formalin has the ability to preserve and disinfect fungi. Formalin with its two mechanisms in inhibiting fungal growth, namely destroying the nucleus and coagulation of microbial proteins, also formalin inhibits fungi with a DNA-Cross-Link mechanism. Phenol has disinfectant properties with three abilities, namely the formation of chelates, DNA intercalation and changes in the permeability of fungal cell membranes. This study aims to determine the fungal method of cadaveric at the Anatomy Laboratory of FKIK UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang and test the inhibition of formalin and phenol on fungal growth by disc diffusion. The disc diffusion method is divided into 6 groups, namely group I (negative control), group II (positive control), group III (formalin 5% and phenol 5%), group IV (formalin 5%), group V (formalin 7.5%) . and 5% phenol) and group VI (7.5%). The results of the inhibition test show that the best zone of inhibition is group V (7.5% formalin and 5% phenol) with an inhibition zone of 31.25 mm. Based on this study, a significant increase in phenol in the inhibition of fungal growth with a formalin concentration of 7.5% is the best.

Kadaver merupakan media ajar anatomi utama. Cairan pembalseman yang digunakan untuk kadaver seringkali hanya menjaga kadaver bertahan lama tapi tidak mencegah pertumbuhan jamur. Formalin memiliki kemampuan untuk
preservasi dan desinfeksi jamur. Formalin memiliki 2 mekanisme dalam menghambat pertumbuhan jamur yaitu merusak nukleus serta koagulasi protein mikroba dan formalin juga menghambat pertumbuhan jamur dengan mekanisme DNA-Cross-Link. Fenol memiliki sifat desinfektan dengan 3 mekanisme yaitu pembentukan khelat, interkalasi DNA dan merubah permeabilitas membran sel
jamur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk identifikasi jamur pada kadaver di Laboratorium Anatomi FKIK UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang dan uji daya hambat larutan formalin dan fenol terhadap pertumbuhan jamur dengan metode
difusi cakram. Metode difusi cakram dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok yaitu kelompok I (kontrol negatif), Kelompok II (kontrol positif), kelompok III (formalin 5% dan
fenol 5%), Kelompok IV (formalin 5%), kelompok V (formalin 7,5% dan fenol 5%) dan kelompok VI (formalin 7,5%). Hasil uji daya hambat yang menunjukkan zona
inhibisi terbaik adalah kelompok V (formalin 7,5% dan fenol 5%) dengan zona inhibisi 31,25 mm. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, penambahan fenol bermakna dalam menghambat pertumbuhan jamur dengan konsentrasi formalin 7,5% yang paling baik.
