Abstract
INDONESIA:
Sebagai pemimpin pendidikan, kepala sekolah bertanggung jawab untuk pertumbuhan guru secara terus menerus. Ia harus membantu guru untuk mengenal kebutuhan masyarakat sehingga tujuan pendidikan bisa memenuhi syarat tersebut dan ia harus membantu guru untuk mengevaluasi program pendidikan dan hasil belajar murid, termasuk meningkatkan semua kompetensi guru.
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) Menjelaskan bagaimana peran Kepala Sekolah dalam meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru PAI di SMP Islam Al Azhaar Tulungagung (2) Menjelaskan bagaimana kompetensi profesional guru PAI di SMP Islam Al Azhaar Tulungagung. (3) Menjelaskan faktor pendukung dan penghambat kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru PAI di SMP Islam Al Azhaar Tulungagung.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dan teknik pengumpulan data berupa metode observasi, metode wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan teknik analisis data yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah
menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data kemudian penarikan kesimpulan.
Dari hasil analisis dapat diketahui bahwa peran kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan guru PAI di SMP Islam Al Azhaar dilakukan melalui beberapa hal diantaranya kepala sekolah selalu memberikan pelatihan maupun workshop kepada guru-guru, kepala sekolah senantiasa memberikan motivasi dan apresiasi kepada guru, kepala sekolah juga selalu memberikan supervisi terhadap semua guru agar guru senantiasa meningkatkan kualitasnya. Sedangkan kompetensi professional guru PAI di SMP Islam Al Azhaar terbilang cukup baik. Guru PAI memenuhi kualifikasi yang mencukupi seperti sudah tersertifikasi, selalu mengikuti pelatihan, penataran, workshop, UKG, KKG, MGMP.
Adapun faktor pendukung kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kompetensi professional guru PAI adalah membina kerjasama antar guru, menekankan kedisiplinan, dan supervisi. Sedangkan faktor penghambat kepala sekolah adalah komunikasi, kurangnya sarana prasarana, serta terbatasnya biaya.

As educational leaders, school principals are responsible for the continuous growth of teachers. He should help teachers to get to know the needs of the community so that the purpose of education can qualify and he had to help the teacher to evaluate educational programs and student learning outcomes, including increasing the competencies of teachers.
The purpose of this study is (1) Explains how the role of Principal in improving the professional competence of teachers of Islamic religious education in Islamic Junior Hihg schools Al AzhaarTulungagung. (2) Explaining how the professional competence of teachers of Islamic religious education in Islamic Junior Hihg schools Al Azhaar Tulungagung. (3) Explaining the factors supporting and hindering principals in improving the professional competence of teachers of Islamic religious education in Islamic Junior Hihg schools Al AzhaarTulungagung.
This study used descriptive qualitative approach and data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis technique used by the researchers are using data reduction, data presentation and then drawing conclusions.
From the analysis it can be seen that principal's role in improving the education of teachers of Islamic religion in Islamic Junior Hihg schools Al Azhaarconducted through several things including the principal always provide training and workshops to teachers, principals continues to provide motivation and appreciation to teachers, principals also always provide supervision of all teachers for teachers to continuously improve its quality. While the professional competence of teachers of Islamic religious education in Islamic Junior Hihg schools Al Azhaarquite good. Islamic religious education teachers meet the requirements are insufficient as has already been certified, always training, upgrading courses, workshops, UKG, KKG, MGMP.
The factors supporting principals in enhancing the professional competence of teachers of Islamic religious education is to foster cooperation among teachers, emphasized discipline and supervision. While the principal limiting factor is communication, lack of infrastructure, and limited cost.
