Abstract
ENGLISH:
This study aims to find out the level of the social emotional development in early childhood through traditional games. A qualitative study using a case study is chosen to answer the problems of the study. The five types of traditional game played in Syihabuddin Islamic Pre-school using observation, interview and documentation methods.
The results of the study indicate that those five traditional games named meong-meongan, ular naga, cina buta, dolip, and balap karung can develop the social emotional aspect of early childhood. These five games can develop all the social emotional indicators such as self-understanding development, social relation development, self-management skill development and social behavior development indicators. The cina buto is a game that does not meet one of the indicators, which is behavior development indicator, since this game has certain rules forbidding children to make any noise and help their friends to guess the name of a friend whose name should be guessed. Except the mentioned indicator, cinta buta game has fulfilled all indicators of social emotional development.
The social emotional development in early childhood in traditional games will progress optimally if the time needed for playing the game is lengthened and the teachers are actively participated in the game together with the children.
INDONESIA:
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perkembangan sosial emosional anak usia dini melalui permainan tradisional. Penelitian kualitatif jenis studi kasus dipilih untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian. Lima jenis permainan tradisional yang digunakan di KB/RA Syihabuddin dengan menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi.
Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa, dari kelima permainan tradisional yaitu permainan meong-meongan, ular naga, cina buta, dolip, dan balap karung dapat mengembangkan aspek sosial emosional anak usia dini. Permainan meong-meongan, ular naga, dolip, dan balap dapat mengembangkan semua indikator sosial emosional seperti indikator perkembangan pemahaman diri, perkembangan hubungan sosial, perkembangan kemampuan mengatur diri, dan perkembangan perilaku sosial. Permainan cina buta merupakan permainan yang tidak memenuhi salah satu indikator, yaitu indikator perkembangan perilaku karena pada permainan ini memiliki aturan permainan bahwa anak dilarang untuk bersuara, membantu teman menebak nama teman yang akan ditebaknya. Selain dari indikator diatas permainan cina buta dapat memenuhi semua indikator perkembangan sosial emosional.
Perkembangan sosial emosional anak usia dini pada permainan tradisional akan berkembang optimal jika waktu yang dibutuhkan ketika bermain di pertambah dari waktu bermain sebelumnya dan partisipasi guru yang ikut berperan serta ketika bermain bersama anak-anak.
