Abstract
ABSTRAK
Karakter yang baik tidak muncul secara tiba-tiba melainkan melalui proses pendidikan. Oleh sebab itu, pendidikan karakter melalui pendidikan di sekolah maupun di keluarga sangat dibutuhkan. Sebenarnya inti dari penghargaan Adiwiyata bukan terletak pada nilai dan harga semata, tetapi pada pengakuan yang tersirat atas dedikasi membangun generasi Indonesia dalam mengelola mutu lingkungan hidup melalui proses pembelajaran, pembiasaan, serta pembentukan karakter secara berkelanjutan.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui konsep program Adiwiyata dalam menumbuhkan karakter peduli lingkungan di MTs Negeri Gresik, (2) mengetahui pelaksanaan program Adiwiyata dalam menumbuhkan karakter peduli lingkungan di MTs Negeri Gresik, (3) mengetahui faktor pendukung dan penghambat pelaksanaan program Adiwiyata dalam menumbuhkan karakter peduli lingkungan di MTs Negeri Gresik.
Untuk mencapai tujuan diatas, Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Data yang terkumpul berupa kata-kata yang dianalisis dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Untuk pengecekan keabsahan data, penulis menggunakan teknik triangulasi, dan diskusi teman sejawat.
Hasil penelitian ini menujukkan bahwa, (1) program Adiwiyata dilaksanakan di MTs Negeri Gresik dengan konsep kegiatan dan kebijakan yang berpedoman pada prinsip edukasi, partisipatif dan berkelanjutan. (2) pelaksanaan program Adiwiyata di MTs Negeri Gresik sesuai dengan 4 standar penilaian, yaitu menerapkan kebijakan yang berwawasan lingkungan, melaksanakan kurikulum berbasis lingkungan hidup dengan mengintegrasikan pendidikan lingkungan dengan pelajaran dan pembelajaran, mengadakan berbagai kegiatan aksi lingkungan berbasis partisipatif yang di laksanakan oleh madrasah maupun pihak luar, dan mengelola sarana pendukung yang ramah lingkungan dengan memanfaatkan sarana yang telah disediakan (green house, taman kelas, kebun buah, kolam, hutan madrasah, kantin, dll). (3) faktor pendukung pelaksanaan program Adiwiyata adalah dukungan kerjasama Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM), komitmen yang tinggi, inovasi yang prospektif dan berkelanjutan. Adapun faktor penghambat pelaksanaan program Adiwiyata adalah dukungan warga madrasah yang belum optimal dan dukungan biaya.
ABSTRACT
Good character does not emerge suddenly but through the educational process. Therefore, character education through education at school and in the family is needed. Actually the core of the Adiwiyata award lies not in value and price alone, but in the implied recognition of the dedication of building the Indonesian generation in managing environmental quality through a process of learning, habituation, and character building in a sustainable manner.
This study aims to: (1) find out the concept of the Adiwiyata program in growing the environmental care character in MTs Negeri Gresik, (2) knowing the implementation of the Adiwiyata program in growing the environmental care character in MTs Negeri Gresik, (3) knowing the supporting and inhibiting factors of the implementation of the Adiwiyata program in fostering the character of caring for the environment in MTs Negeri Gresik.
To achieve the objectives above, researcher uses a qualitative research approach with descriptive qualitative research type. The data is collected using interview, observation and documentation methods. The collected data in the form of words were an analyzed by means of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. To check the validity of the data the author uses triangulation and peer discussion techniques.
The results of this study show that, (1) the Adiwiyata program was implemented in MTs Negeri Gresik with the concept of activities and policies guided by the principles of education, participation and sustainability. (2) the implementation of the Adiwiyata program in MTs Negeri Gresik in accordance with 4 assessment standards, namely implementing environmentally sound policies, implementing an environment-based curriculum by integrating environmental education with lessons and learning, holding various participatory-based environmental action activities carried out by institution and outsiders, and manage supporting facilities that are environmentally friendly by utilizing the facilities that have been provided (green houses, class parks, fruit gardens, ponds, institution forests, canteens, etc.). (3) supporting factors for the implementation of the Adiwiyata program are the support of Human Resources (HR) cooperation, high commitment, prospective and sustainable innovation. The inhibiting factors of the implementation of the Adiwiyata program are the support of institution residents who have not been optimal and support costs.
