Abstract
INDONESIA:
Motivasi belajar adalah energi yang mendorong siswa bersemangat melakukan aktivitas belajar. Reward (ganjaran) dan punishment (hukuman) adalah bentuk motivasi eksternal yang berasal dari teori behavoristik. Dalam kegiatan belajar mengajarnya guru bisa menggunakan metode reward (ganjaran) dan punishment (hukuman) untuk memacu motivasi belajar siswa. Reward diberikan karena siswa berprestasi, sedangkan punishment diberikan karena siswa melakukan pelanggaran. Dengan adanya kedua metode tersebut diharapkan siswa tidak akan bosan belajar di kelas serta menjaga motivasi belajar internalnya, sehingga tujuan pembelajaran bisa tercapai secara optimal.
Tujuan peneltian ini adalah untuk: (1) menjelaskan besarnya pengaruh pemberian reward terhadap motivasi belajar siswa kelas VIII MTs Al-Husna Probolinggo, (2) menjelaskan besarnya pengaruh pemberian punishment terhadap motivasi belajar siswa kelas VIII MTs Al-Husna Probolinggo, (3) menjelaskan pengaruh pemberian reward dan punishment terhadap motivasi belajar siswa kelas VIII MTs Al-Husna Probolinggo.
Untuk mencapai tujuan diatas, pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif karena data penelitian berupa angka-angka serta analisis datanya menggunakan statistik. Metode pengambilan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuesioner (angket) dengan instrument skala likert. Sedangkan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan random sampling dengan mengambil kesuluruhan dari jumlah populasi. Sedangkan analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linier berganda untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian reward (ganjaran) dan punishment (hukuman) terhadap motivasi belajar siswa baik secara parsial maupun secara simultan.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, (1) terdapat pengaruh positif signifikan reward terhadap motivasi belajar siswa kelas VIII MTs Al-Husna Probolinggo. (2) terdapat pengaruh positif signifikan punishment terhadap motivasi belajar siswa kelas VIII MTs Al-Husna Probolinggo. (3) terdapat pengaruh positif signifikan reward dan punishment terhadap motivasi belajar siswa kelas VIII MTs Al-Husna Probolinggo. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa variabel reward dan punishment bersama-sama berpengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar siswa kelas VIII MTs Al-Husna Probolinggo.

Motivation to learn is energy that encourages students to engage in learning activities. Reward and punishment are forms of external motivation originating from the behavoristic theory. In their teaching and learning activities teachers can use reward and punishment methods to spur student learning motivation. Reward is given because students achieve, while punishment is given because students commit violations. With the existence of these two methods it is expected that students will not be bored with learning in class and maintain their internal learning motivation, so that learning objectives can be achieved optimally.
The purpose of this study was to: (1) explain the magnitude of the effect of giving rewards on the learning motivation of class student VIII MTs Al-Husna Probolinggo students, (2) explain the magnitude of the effect of punishment on the learning motivation of class student VIII MTs Al-Husna Probolinggo students, (3) explain the effect of giving reward and punishment on the learning motivation of class VIII MTs Al-Husna Probolinggo students.
To achieve the objectives above, quantitative approach is used since the data of the study is numeral and the data analysis is done by statistic. The data collection method used is questionaires with likert intrumental scale. While the sampling technique uses simple random sampling in an ordinal way taken from the entire population. And double linier regression analysis is use as the data analysis technique to find out the effects of giving reward and punishment towards the students learning motivation whether partially or simultaniously.
The results showed that, (1) there was a significant positive effect of reward on students' motivation in class VIII MTs Al-Husna Probolinggo. (2) there is a significant positive effect of punishment on students' motivation in class VIII MTs Al-Husna Probolinggo. (3) there is a significant positive effect of reward and punishment on the learning motivation of eighth grade students of MTs Al-Husna Probolinggo. So, it can be concluded that the reward and punishment variables together affect the learning motivation of eighth grade students of MTs Al-Husna Probolinggo.
