Abstract
INDONESIA:
Nasionalisme adalah kesetiaan tertinggi individu diserahkan kepada negara kebangsaan. Selama ini sikap nasionalisme yang ada di sekolah semakin menurun, hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan berbagai permasalahan yang terjadi di lingkungan sekolah. Karakter cinta tanah air perlu ditanamkan pada diri peserta didik agar mereka mempunyai sikap nasionalisme yang kuat dan lebih mencintai budaya lokal, terutama lebih bisa menghargai jasa para pahlawan yang telah berjuang untuk kemerdekaan Indonesia. Disinilah peran guru sangat dibutuhkan dalam pembentukan karakter peserta didik dan memberikan pemahaman kepada anak bangsa agar mereka bisa menanamkan rasa nasionalisme dan cinta tanah air kepada bangsanya.
Penelitian ini dibuat dengan tujuan untuk menjelaskan (1) pembentukan karakter cinta tanah air untuk menumbuhkan sikap nasionalisme siswa di MTsN 7 Malang (2) peran guru IPS dalam pembentukan karakter cinta tanah air untuk menumbuhkan sikap nasionalisme siswa di MTsN 7 Malang (3) faktor penghambat dan pendukung pembentukan karakter cinta tanah air untuk menumbuhkan sikap nasionalisme siswa di MTsN 7 Malang.
Adapun pendekatan pada penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan interview (wawancara), observasi dan studi dokumenasi. Informan penelitian yaitu waka kesiswaan, guru IPS kelas VII dan siswa-siswa kelas VII. Adapun langkah-langkah penelitian atau analisis data yang dilakukan adalah dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data dan pengambil kesimpulan atau verifikasi data.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) pembentukan karakter cinta tanah air untuk menumbuhkan sikap nasionalisme siswa kelas VII MTsN 7 Malang yaitu melakukan kegiatan pembiasaan, seperti upacara bendera rutin, mengadakan peringatan hari besar nasional, kegiatan ekstrakulikuler dan terdapat program pramuka wajib bagi kelas VII. (2) peran guru IPS dalam pembentukan karakter cinta tanah air untuk menumbuhkan sikap nasionalisme siswa kelas VII MTsN 7 Malang yaitu guru sebagai pelayan belajar dan Sebagai model. (3) Faktor penghambat dalam pembentukan karakter cinta tanah air perlu adanya bimbingan dan waktu yang cukup lama, kurangnya dukungan dari lingkungan pergaulan siswa, perkembangan teknologi yang sangat pesat dan disalahgunakan. Faktor pendukung: dukungan orang tua dan tenaga pengajar yang kompeten.
ENGLISH:
Nationalism is the highest loyalty of individuals handed over to the nation state. During this time the attitude of nationalism in school has declined. This is evidenced by various problems that occur in the school environment. The character of patriotism needs to be instilled in students. They will have a strong attitude of nationalism and more love of local culture, especially they will more appreciate the services of the heroes who have fought for Indonesian independence. This is where the role of the teacher is needed to build the character of the students. This is also providing understanding to the students so that they can instill a sense of nationalism and patriotism to their nation.
This research aims to explain (1) the character building of patriotism to foster the Students’ Nationalism Attitude at MTSN 7 Malang, (2) the role of teachers of Social Science (IPS) Education in the character building of patriotism to foster the Students’ Nationalism Attitude at MTSN 7 Malang, (3) inhibiting and supporting factors for the character building of patriotism to foster the Students’ Nationalism Attitude at MTSN 7 Malang.
The approach used a qualitative with descriptive type. Data collection techniques that were used in this research were using interviews, observation and study of documentation. The informants were the vice principal of the students affair in this school, the teachers of Social Science Education and the students of grade VII. Data analysis was carried out by data reduction, data presentation and conclusion making or data verification.
The results shows (1) the character building of patriotism to foster the Students’ Nationalism Attitude at Grade VII of MTSN 7 Malang is by applying the habitual activities, such as routine flag ceremonies, holding national holidays, extracurricular activities and mandatory scout programs for grade VII, (2) the role of Social Science Education teachers in the character building of patriotism to foster the Students’ Nationalism Attitude at Grade VII of MTSN 7 Malang, namely the teacher as a servant of learning and as a model, (3) the inhibiting factors in the character building of patriotism to foster the Students’ Nationalism Attitude at Grade VII of MTSN 7 Malang are the need for help and a long time, the need for support from the student's social environment, the development of highly sophisticated and abused technology, while the supporting factors are supporting parents and competent teaching staff.
