Abstract
INDONESIA:
Pendidikan memiliki peran dalam membentuk kecerdasan dan karakter siswa. Pembelajaran IPS dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam mengembangkan pengetahuan, pemahaman karakter, kemampuan analisis siswa terhadap kondisi sosial di masyarakat. Hadirnya pembelajaran IPS diharapkan mampu membentuk siswa menjadi warga negara yang baik dan diaplikasikan dalam kehidupan sosial di masyarakat.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk : 1) mengetahui perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pembelajaran IPS dalam membentuk karakter toleransi pada siswa kelas VII SMP Islam Terpadu Permata. 2) mengetahui pembentukkan karakter toleransi siswa kelas VII SMP Islam Terpadu Permata melalui pembelajaran IPS.
Demi mencapai tujuan diatas, maka peneliti menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan cara observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi sedangkan analisis data menggunakan model analisis data Miles dan Huberman. Pengecekan keabsahan data menggunakan metode bahan referensi, yaitu menggunakan recorder saat wawancara, foto, dan beberapa video yang mendukung kredibelitas data temuan.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, 1) perencanaan pembelajaran IPS telah sesuai dengan kaidah-kaidah yang sudah ditetapkan oleh Peraturan Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Nomor 65 tahun 2013 tentang Standar Proses Pendidikan Dasar dan Menengah. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran IPS telah ditanamkan karakter toleransi melalui penggunaan metode pembelajaran diskusi kelompok, penerapan perilaku atau karakter toleransi yang dilakukan oleh guru IPS, dan pemberian stimulus yang kemudian dihubungkan dengan karakter toleransi pada siswa. Evaluasi pembelajaran IPS, guru merekapitulasi penilaian siswa melalui penilaian kognitif, afektif, dan keterampilan. 2) Sebagian besar siswa telah menunjukkan karakter toleransi baik terhadap guru, teman, maupun orang lain. Namun masih ada sebagian kecil yang belum menunjukkan karakter toleransi.
ENGLISH:
Education has great contribution in building intelligence and character of students. Social studies learning is able to give contribution in developing knowledge, learning character, and student analysis ability of social condition in society. The present of social Studies learning is expected to be able to build kind character to students and applied to society.
The research is held for the following purposes : 1) understanding design, implementation, and evaluation the social studies learning in forming tolerance character to 7th grade students of SMP Islam Terpadu Permata. 2) understanding form of tolerance character of 7th grade students of SMP Islam Terpadu Permata through social science learning.
In order to achieve those purposes, the researcher applies qualitative research approach to type of case study research. Technique of collecting data by using observation, interview, and documentation, while the data analysis by using data analysis design proposed by Miles and Huberman. In order to obtain credible data, the researcher then examine the data validation. Data’s validity was chacked with the reference material method, a recorder was required during interviews, photo, and several videos that support the credibility of found data.
The results show that, 1) the design of learning social studies are corresponding to constitution established by the Minister of Education and Culture in 65th 2013rd about process standard of elementary and junior high school. The implementation of learning social studies has been applied tolerance character that has been given by social studies teacher and giving stimulus as it relates to tolerance character of students. In the evaluation of learning social studies, the teachers recapitulate students’ score by cognitive, affective, and skill. 2) Most of students have showed kind tolerance character to teacher, friends, and society. However, there is still small percentage of students who have not showed the tolerance character.
