Abstract

INDONESIA:

Wijen merupakan tanaman kaya akan kandungan yang bermanfaat Sehingga masyarakat banyak memanfaatkan wijen dalam kehidupan. Namun, jumlah produksi wijen sangat tidak seimbang dengan banyaknya kebutuhan wijen di Indonesia hal ini diebabkan oleh beberapa faktor. Agar dapat mengurangi penggunaan pupuk anorganik, salah satu teknologi pendukung yang dapat diberikan sebagai solusi untuk membantu meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman wijen, yakni dengan memanfaatkan perkembangan teknologi medan magnet Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) dalam pemanfaatannya sebagai faktor pendukung perkecambahan tanaman. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) Menganalisis pengaruh kuat medan magnet Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) terhadap proses perkecambahan benih wijen (Sesamum indicum L.) (2) Menganalisis pengaruh lama paparan medan magnet Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) terhadap proses perkecambahan benih wijen (Sesamum indicum L). Percobaan ini dilakukan secara eksperimental dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Rancangan Acak ini terdiri dari dua faktor perlakuan yakni faktor intensitas medan magnet Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) (0 mT, 0,1 mT, 0,3 mT, dan 0,5 mT) dan faktor yang kedua adalah lama pemaparan medan magnet Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) (10 menit, 20 menit, dan 30 menit), dan parameter penelitian meliputi: waktu mulai berkecambah, presentase daya berkecambah, panjang plumula, dan laju pertumbuhan. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 4x3 kombinasi perlakuan atau 12 kombinasi perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: Paparan medan magnet Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) dengan variasi intensitas memberikan pengaruh terhadap perkecambahan wijen, intensitas medan magnet yang paling berpengaruh adalah intensitas medan magnet Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) sebesar 0,3 mT dan lama paparan medan magnet juga berpengaruh terhadap perkecambahan wijen, dari ketiga variasi lama paparan medan magnet yang paling berpengaruh adalah intensitas medan magnet Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) dengan paparan selama 20 menit.

ENGLISH:

Sesame is a plant that rich of useful ingredients. Many people use sesame because of its benefits in life. However, the amount of sesame production is not very balanced with the large number of sesames needs in Indonesia. This is caused by several factors. In order to reduce the use of inorganic fertilizers, one of the supporting technologies that can be provided as a solution to increase the productivity of sesame plants is utilizing the development of Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) magnetic field technology in its utilization as a supporting factor for plant germination. The objectives of this research are: (1) To analyze the effect of Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) magnetic field strength on the germination process of sesame seeds (Sesamum indicum L.) (2) To analyze the effect of Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) magnetic field exposure on seed germination sesame (Sesamum indicum L). This research was occurred experimentally by using a completely randomized design (CRD). This Random Design consists of two treatment factors, namely the magnetic field intensity of Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) (0 mT, 0.1 mT, 0.3 mT, and 0.5 mT), the duration of Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) of magnetic field exposure (10 minutes, 20 minutes, and 30 minutes), and the research parameters include: time to germinate, percentage of germination, length of plumula, and growth rate. This research consisted of 4x3 treatment combinations or 12 treatment combinations. The results of this research showed that Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) magnetic field exposure with various intensity gave effect to sesame germination. The most influential magnetic field intensity was Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) magnetic field intensity of 0.3 mT. The length of magnetic field exposure affected on sesame germination. Regarding the three long variations of magnetic field exposure, the most influential is the Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) magnetic field intensity with exposure for 20 minutes.
