Abstract
ENGLISH:
Amprong River is one of the big rivers in Malang Regency. This river is widely used by the community around the Poncokusumo Subdistrict area to fulfill daily needs both for MCK, as well as for drinking and cooking. However, not a few of these rivers are places for disposal of household and industrial waste in rivers which are feared to endanger public health. River water quality can be seen from the diversity of macrozoobenthos living in it which acts as a bioindicator. This study aims to evaluate the diversity of macrozoobenthos as a bioindicator of the waters of the Amprong River, Poncokusumo District, Malang Regency.
This research was conducted on the Amprong river, Poncokusumo District, Malang Regency. There are three different stations by presenting upstream, middle and downstream. Sampling by exploration method using net surbur. The physico-chemical parameters used were BOD, COD, TSS, Ph, Temperature, DO and Light intensity. The results of the study were then identified and then counted diversity index, dominance index and correlation. Calculation of diversity index and macrozoobenthos dominance using the Shannon-Weiner index formula while tested correlation analysis with Pearson correlation coefficient with PAST version 3.24.
The results of the study obtained 8 families of macrozoobenthos which included: Planorbidae, Hydropsychidae, Hirudinidae, Heptageniidae, Chironomidae Thiaridae, Hyropcysidae, and Physidae. The diversity index value (H ') in stations I, II, and III shows moderate diversity (1 <H' <3). Based on the Pearson correlation analysis showed that the relationship between BOD and TSS variables in the Physidae family each had a very strong closeness while COD in the Physidae family had a strong closeness with a positive correlation. The correlation between pH obtained the highest results in the family Planorbidae with strong closeness and negative correlation and the correlation between the temperature obtained the highest results in the family Physidae with low closeness and negative correlation. The DO correlation in the Physidae family has strong closeness and negative correlation. Light correlation in the Thiariidae family with strong closeness and positive correlation.
