Abstract
INDONESIA:
ENGLISH:
Weeds are plants that grow in undesirable areas, which grow in planted areas. Weeds can be detrimental to cultivated plants because they compete in getting nutrients, sunlight, and water. This is due to the presence of allelope substances contained in weeds that make it capable of being competitive with the main plants. However, these alleopathic substances can be extracted and used as natural herbicides to inhibit the growth of weeds themselves. The research was conducted from February to April 2018. The research sites were chili plantations, Ds. Belung, Kec. Poncokusumo, Kab. Malang. The sampling method used is a systematic multiple plot method with a plot size of 1x1 m², with distances between plots of 100 cm each. The extraction process used is maceration carried out in the plant physiology laboratory of UIN Malang. The process of data collection is carried out by analyzing weed vegetation to calculate the density (K) of weeds. Calculation of weed damage is done by comparing the number of weeds before and after giving treatment to determine the amount of damage inflicted on weeds, and the results will be used to calculate the percentage of damage (PK%) of weeds. The results of the study were found 20 types of weeds, consisting of 10 orders, 11 families, 20 genera and 20 species. Density data (K) weeds showed that the administration of extracts caused a decrease in the density of each type of weed on cayenne plantations. The calculation of weed damage showed that the treatment gave damage to each type of weed.
