Abstract
INDONESIA:
Nanopartikel perak adalah partikel perak yang berukuran tidak lebih dari 100 nm. Nanopartikel perak memiliki sifat antimikroba dan telah diaplikasikan pada berbagai bidang sebagai agen antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan memformulasi dan menguji aktivitas antibakteri sediaan obat kumur berbasis nanopartikel perak terhadap Staphylococcus aureus. Nanopartikel perak disintesis menggunakan metode reduksi kimia, selanjutnya dikarakterisasi meliputi panjang gelombang menggunakan instrumen Spektrofotometer UV-Vis dan ukuran partikel menggunakan instrumen PSA. Nanopartikel perak diformulasikan pada obat kumur dengan variasi konsentrasi yaitu 0%, 60%, 70%, dan 80% berturut-turut sebagai formula 1, 2, 3 dan 4, kemudian diamati organoleptis, pH, stabilitas, dan diuji aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Staphylococcus aureus menggunakan metode difusi cakram. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sediaan obat kumur berbasis nanopartikel perak memiliki organoleptis yang baik, pH rata-rata formula 1,2,3 dan 4 berturut-turut adalah 3,40; 3,40; 3,46; dan 3,54, namun tidak stabil selama masa penyimpanan. Hasil uji aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus menunjukkan bahwa formula 2 memiliki rata-rata diameter zona hambat terbesar yaitu sebesar 13,14±0,31 mm dibandingkan dengan formula 1, 3 dan 4 yang sebesar 5,20±0,44; 12,40±0,74; dan 8,40±0,89 mm. Formula sediaan obat kumur yang efektif menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus adalah formula 2.

Silver nanoparticles are particles of silver that measuring no more than 100 nm. Silver nanoparticles have antimicrobial properties and have been applied in various fields as antibacterial agents. This study aims to formulate and test the antibacterial activity of silver nanoparticles based mouthwash preparations against Staphylococcus aureus. Silver nanoparticles were synthesized using a chemical reduction method, further characterized by wavelength using UV-Vis Spectrophotometer and particle size using PSA instruments. Silver nanoparticles formulated in mouthwash with various concentrations of 0%, 60%, 70%, and 80% respectively as formulas 1, 2, 3 and 4, then observed organoleptic, pH, stability, and tested for antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus using disc diffusion method. The results showed that the mouthwash preparation based on silver nanoparticles had good organoleptic, the average pH of formula 1,2,3 and 4 was 3,40; 3.40; 3.46; and 3.54, but is not stable during the storage period. Result of antibacterial activity test on Staphylococcus aureus bacteria showed that formula 2 had the highest average inhibition zone diameter of 13.14 ± 0.31 mm compared to formula 1, 3 and 4 which was 5.20 ± 0.44; 12.40 ± 0.74; and 8.40 ± 0.89 mm. Formula of mouthwash which effectively inhibits the growth of Staphylococcus aureus is formula 2.
