Abstract

INDONESIA:

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan serbuk cangkang kerang simping pada resin akrilik polimerisasi panas bahan pembuat basis gigi tiruan terhadap uji densitas, porositas, absorbs air, kekuatan tekan dan kekuatan tarik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dengan memvariasikan ukuran filler, serta mencampurkan variasi komposisi serbuk cangkang Kerang Simping dengan polimer resin untuk menghasilkan nilai fisis yang baik. Pembuatan basis gigi tiruan dilakukan dengan mencampurkan serbuk cangkang Kerang Simping dengan resin akrilik polimerisasi panas dan mencetaknya sesuai bentuk sampel uji. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa resin akrilik polimerisasi panas dengan penambahan serbuk cangkang kerang simping ukuran 2,04 g merupakan kondisi yang optimum dengan densitas 1,0975 g/cm3, porositas 1,0285%, absorbs air 1,91%, kekuatan tekan 30,72 MPa, dan kekuatan tarik 30,5 MPa. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa sampel resin akrilik polimerisasi panas dengan penambahan serbuk cangkang kerang simping yang telah divariasikan ukurannya telah sesuai dengan International Organization for Standarilization (ISO) maupun sampel tanpa penambahan serbuk cangkang kerang simping (kontrol) pembuatan basis gigi tiruan.

ENGLISH:

The research aims at determining the influence of Simping Shellfish Powder Additions against heat polymerization acrylic resin for denture base material to test density, porosity, water absorbency, compressive strength and tensile strength. The research method used the filler size, as well as mixing variations in the composition of Simping Shellfish Powder with polymer resin which produces good physical value. Making denture base was done by mixing Simping Shellfish Powder with hot polymerization acrylic resin and printing it according to the shape of the test sample. The results of the research showed that the heat polymerization acrylic resin with the addition of the Simping Shellfish Powder of 2.04 g size was the optimum condition with a density of 1.0975 g/cm3, porosity was 1.0285%, water absorption was 1.91%, compressive strength was 30, 72 MPa, and tensile strength was 30.5 MPa. From the results of the research, it can be concluded that the heat polymerization acrylic resin sample with the addition of the Simping Shellfish Powder which had been varied in size was in accordance with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the sample without the addition of Simping Shellfish (control) Powder of denture base forgery
