Abstract
INDONESIA:
ENGLISH:
Moss belonging to the small plants are classified as plants that can not be differentiated parts (thallus), moss can grow on various substrates, such as growing a ride on crop plants (epiphytes), stone (epilitik), bark (kortikolus), and can grow on the surface of the soil. One of the other places in East Java has a variety of potential mosses, namely in the area of the waterfall, sewage, moss grows a lot in that location because of the condition of the natural, humid, and abundant air.
The research was conducted on October 27 to November 20, 2018. The research site was in the tourist area of Tumpak Sewu Waterfall in Lumajang Regency, East Java. moss sampling. The location is located along the river flow after the entrance to around Tumpak Sewu Waterfall. The method used is the quadratic method with grid lines with a plot size of 1x1 m² on the right and left sides of the river, the distance between plots is 10 - 20 m respectively. Identification is done using an identification key, and unidentified samples are sent to LIPI. The data obtained were analyzed by calculating the Important Value Index.
This study showed that there are 7 types of moss were found in which 3 species of the Marcahntiaceae family, namely Marchantia sp.1, Marchantia sp.2, and Marchantia polymorpha L. 2 types of Bryaceae family namely Pohlia flexuossa W.J. Hooker and Pohliia elongata hedw. In addition 1 type of Pottiaceae Barbules consanguiena A. Jeger, and 1 type of Anthocerotaceae Anthoceros sp. The highest INP is Pohlia flexuosa W.J. Hooker (78.178), and the lowest INP is Marchantia sp.K3 (4,524). The difference in INP is very much influenced by the adaptability of mosses and biotic and abiotic environmental factors.
