Abstract

INDONESIA:

ENGLISH:

Rambutan Seeds (Nephelium lappaceum L) are plants that can be used as herbal medicines, one of which is antidiabetic. Rambutan seeds (Nephelium lappaceum L) have been known to have phenol compounds, flavonoids and tannins. Compounds from phenol groups, flavonoids and tannins can improve oxidative stress conditions in diabetes that are characterized by SOD and MDAs. The research aims at determining the influence of 70% ethanol extract of rambutan seeds (Nephelium lappaceum L.) against increasing SOD levels of and decreasing MDA of mice, and determining the effective dose of 70% ethanolic extract of rambutan seeds (Nephelium lappaceum L.) against SOD and MDA of mice. The research was an experimental study using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment of 70% ethanol extract of Rambutan seeds was with P0 (DM + CMC 0.5%), P1 (DM + EBR 15 mg / kgBB), P2 (DM + EBR 19.2 mg / kgBB), P3 (DM + EBR 23.4 mg / kgBB), K- (negative control) and K + (positive control, metformin). The parameters of the research included liver SOD and MDA levels. Based on the results of DMRT, there was a difference between the treatment of 70% ethanol extract of Rambutan Seeds (Nephelium lappaceum L) against SOD levels and the Test decreased in MDA levels (Kruskall-Wallis). The dose that showed the highest SOD level and the lowest MDA level was the dose of 19.2 mg / kgBB
