Abstract

INDONESIA:

ENGLISH:

The disease that often attacks chili is anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum sp. and fusarium wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum. One alternative to reduce these pathogens with Trichoderma. Antibiosis is one of the mechanisms used to inhibit pathogens. So the role of secondary metabolites needs to be tested and developed as antifungals. This study aims to determine the effect of secondary metabolites of endophytic molds Trichoderma sp. against pathogenic molds Colletotrichum sp. and Fusarium oxysporum and the class of compounds contained therein. The method used in this study is experimental and descriptive. Experimental research was carried out by testing the secondary metabolites of Trichoderma sp. as an antifungal. There are two methods for testing antifungal activity, namely testing of non volatile secondary metabolites and testing of volatile secondary metabolites. Then proceed to test the compound group using phytochemical test on the filtrate (secondary metabolite) Trichoderma sp. The test results of the activity of antifungal showed significant on the control treatment. Activity secondary metabolites of non volatile Trichoderma sp. showed inhibition of 20.58% against Colletotrichum sp. and 13.02% of Fusarium oxysporum. While testing the activity of volatile secondary metabolites Trichoderma sp. showed inhibition of 41.11% against Colletotrichum sp. and 12.45% of Fusarium oxysporum. Next for the phytochemical test, Trichoderma sp. shows positive compounds containing alkaloid groups.
