Abstract
INDONESIA:
Guru memiliki peran besar dalam menentukan dan membentuk karakter peserta didik. Peran guru pada saat ini tidak hanya cukup sebagai pendidik akademik semata, tetapi juga sebagai pendidik karakter bagi peserta didiknya. Guru haruslah menjadi motivator, korektor, serta pembimbing bagi peserta didiknya dalam membentuk karakter pribadinya. Oleh karena itu, peran guru IPS dalam membentuk karekter siswa di SMP Islam Sabilurrosyad Gasek Karangbesuki Sukun Malang pada proses pelaksanaannya menjadi contoh bagi sekolah dalam menumbuhkan karakter peserta didik demi tercapainya tujuan pendidikan karakter.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran guru IPS dalam membentuk karakter jujur, disiplin, dan tanggung jawab siswa kelas VII didalam dan di luar pembelajaran di SMP Islam Sabilurrosyad Gasek Karangbesuki Sukun Malang, serta mengetahui kendala-kendala guru IPS dalam proses penerapannya.
Penelitian yang peneliti lakukan ini termasuk penelitian dengan pendekatan kualitatif jenis penelitian studi kasus. Metode dalam pengambilan dan memperoleh data yang dilakukan peneliti adalah menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi.
Hasil penelitian dapat dijelaskan sebagai berikut: peran guru IPS dalam membentuk karakter jujur, disiplin, dan tanggung jawab siswa kelas VII dalam pembelajaran adalah sebagai motivator, korektor dan pembimbing, inisiator, fasilitator, evaluator, demonstrator, organisator, dan informan. Sedangkan peran guru IPS dalam membentuk karakter jujur, disiplin, dan tanggung jawab siswa pada kelas VII diluar pembelajaran adalah sebagai pembimbing, evaluator, demosntrator, dan sebagai korektor. Kendala-kendala guru IPS dalam membentuk karakter jujur, disiplin, dan tanggung jawab adalah 1. guru tidak dapat selalu memantau perilaku peserta didik dikarenakan tugas guru tidak hanya mengajar tetapi juga mengampu tugas lain, 2. Evaluasi yang tidak maksimal, 3. kondisi lingkungan yang tidak selalu mendukung untuk menerapkan pembentukan karakter yang maksimal.

Teachers have a major role in defining and shaping the character of learners. The role of the teacher in this moment is not only quite as purely academic educator, but also as a character educator attendees for his protégé. Teachers must be motivators, corrector, as well as mentors for participants in shaping the personal character of his protégé. Therefore, the role of Social Science teachers in shaping the character of JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL students in the Islamic Sabilurrosyad Karangbesuki Gasek Breadfruit Hapless on the process of its implementation into an example for schools in growing character of learners in order to achieve the the goal of character education.
This study aims to describe the role of Social Science teachers in shaping the character of honesty, discipline, and responsibility for grade VII in the learning in JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL of Islam Sabilurrosyad Karangbesuki Gasek Breadfruit Malang. Know the role of Social Science Teachers Pengatahuan in membetuk honest character, discipline, and responsibility for grade VII outside learning in JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL of Islam Sabilurrosyad Karangbesuki Gasek Breadfruit Malang. As well as knowing the constraints of Social Science teachers in shaping the Character of honesty, discipline, and responsibility delegated grade VII in the Islamic Sabilurrosyad JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL Karangbesuki Gasek Breadfruit Malang.
The research that researchers do this includes research with qualitative approach to this type of case study research. Method of making and acquiring data that researchers are done using interviews, observation, and documentation.
The results of the study can be explained as follows: the role of the social studies teacher in forming honest character, discipline, and responsibility of grade VII students in learning is as a motivator, corrector and mentor, initiator, facilitator, evaluator, demonstrator, organizer, and informator. Whereas the role of the social studies teacher in forming honest, disciplined, and responsible characters of students in class VII outside of learning is as a mentor, evaluator, demosntrator, and as a corrector. The constraints of social studies teachers in forming honest, disciplined, and responsible characters are: 1. The teacher cannot always monitor the behavior of students because the teacher's task is not only teaching but also carrying out other tasks, 2. Non-optimal evaluation, 3 environmental conditions not always support to apply maximum character formation.
