Abstract

INDONESIA:

Penumpukan lemak di tubuh secara berlebihan disebut dengan overweight. Overweight jika dibiarkan dapat menyebabkan penyakit. Berbagai cara dilakukan untuk mengatasi overweight, seperti diet dan operasi. Operasi tidak menjamin penurunan berat badan bisa dipertahankan dalam jangka panjang, karena bergantung pada pola hidup pasien. Diet memiliki kekurangan bahwa masyarakat sulit untuk menahan rasa lapar. Salah satu alternatif untuk menanggulangi overweight dengan menggunakan terapi rangsangan kelistrikan otot. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh rangsangan kelistrikan otot terhadap ukuran lingkar perut dan kadar trigliserida dalam darah. Stimulasi arus listrik dilakukan pada tikus putih (Rattus Norvegicus) galur Wistar berjenis kelamin jantan yang berumur 6-8 minggu. Hewan uji diaklimatisasi terlebih dahulu selama 1 minggu agar mengurangi stres karena perjalanan. Tikus diberi pemaparan 6 hari berturut-turut dengan durasi 4 menit perhari. Variasi pemaparan arus listrik yang digunakan diantaranya 0,55 mA, 0,62 mA, dan 0,68 mA. Pengukuran lingkar perut menggunakan pita pengukur yang dilakukan hari pertama sebelum stimulasi dan hari terakhir sesudah stimulasi. Sedangkan pengukuran trigliserida menggunakan alat baca trigliserida multicare 3 in 1 dilakukan sehari sebelum stimulasi dan sehari sesudah stimulasi. Data yang telah diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan grafik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penurunan ukuran lingkar perut yaitu 0,07 cm terjadi pada stimulasi arus 0,68 mA. Stimulasi arus listrik juga dapat meningkatkan ukuran lingkar perut sebesar 1,74 cm pada stimulasi arus 0,55 mA. Stimulasi arus 0,55 mA dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan massa otot. Stimulasi kelistrikan otot dapat meningkatkan kadar trigliserida dalam darah. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kenaikan kadar trigliserida terbesar terjadi pada stimulasi arus 0,68 mA sebesar 44%.

Accumulation of grease in the body is called overweight. Overweight can cause illness. Various method are done to resolve overweight, such as diet and surgery. Surgery does not guarantee weight loss can be sustained over the long term, because depends on the patient's lifestyle. The diet has a shortage that society is difficult to restrain hunger. One alternative to ward off overweight by using electrical muscles stimulation therapy. This research has aim to determine the effect of electrical muscle stimulation toward the size of the abdominal circumference and blood triglyceride levels. Electrical current stimulation was performed on the white mouse (Rattus Norvegicus) Wistar furrow gender male and have aged 6-8 weeks. The mouse were acclimatized for 1 week to reduce stress cause travel. The mouse had stimulation 6 days with duration 4 minute. Variations of electrical current are 0.55 mA, 0.62 mA, and 0.68 mA. Measurement of abdominal circumference using a measuring tape was performed the first day before stimulation and the last day after stimulation. While the measurement of triglycerides using a multicare 3 in 1 was performed the one day before stimulation and one day after stimulation. The data that have been obtained is analyzed using graph. The results show that the decrease in the size of abdominal circumference was 0.07 cm occurred in the current stimulation 0.68 mA. Stimulation of electric current can also increase the size of the abdominal circumference, that is 1.74 cm in the current stimulation of 0.55 mA. 0,55 mA current stimulation can be used to increase muscle mass. Electrical muscle stimulation can increase triglyceride levels in the blood. The result of analysis show that the highest increase triglyceride occurred at 0.68 mA current stimulation, which was 44%.
