Abstract
INDONESIA:
Sintesis senyawa yang sesuai dengan prinsip green chemistry dinamakan green-synthesis, salah satunya adalah teknik penggerusan yang memberikan waktu relatif singkat serta ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk sintesis dan karakterisasi senyawa turunan kalkon dari vanilin dan setofenon melalui reaksi kondensasi Claisen-Schmidt menggunakan teknik penggerusan dengan variasi mol katalis NaOH. Sintesis senyawa target dilakukan dengan menggerus vanilin, asetofenon dan NaOH. Teknik penggerusan merupakan teknik pencampuran dengan menumbuk reaktan dan katalis dalam mortar selama 30 menit pada suhu ruang. Pada penelitian ini digunakan variasi mol katalis NaOH yaitu 2,5; 5; 7,5 dan 10 mmol. Kristal hasil sintesis diukur titik lelehnya, dilakukan uji kimia serta diidentifikasi menggunakan Kromatografi Lapis Tipis, spektrofotometer Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) dan Kromatografi Gas-Spektrometer Massa.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk hasil sintesis pada berbagai variasi didapatkan randemen yang berbeda-beda. Variasi 1, 2, 3 dan 4, secara berurutan didapatkan randemen sebesar 58,2; 59,2; 65 dan 64,2%. Setiap variasi hasil produk memiliki kemiripan, mulai dari sifat fisik yang berbentuk kristal berwarna kuning dengan titik leleh 65-75 ℃. Produk larut dalam etanol dan kloroform. Pada uji kimia ketika ditambahkan larutan basa NaOH terjadi perubahan warna dari produk kristal kuning menjadi larutan berwarna oranye. Hasil KLT pada lampu UV 366 nm menunjukkan bahwa pada spot 1 yang berwarna biru diduga senyawa vanilin dengan nilai Rf 0,54 dan spot 2 yang berwarna hijau diduga sebagai senyawa target dengan nilai Rf 0,58 – 0,6. Spektra FTIR produk menunjukkan adanya serapan gugus -OH (3477 cm-1) dan (3180 cm-1), -C=C (1511 - 1430 cm-1), -C=O aldehida (1668 cm-1), -C-H aldehida (2861 cm-1), dan –C-O-C (1267 cm-1). Hasil kromatogram KG-SM didapatkan 2 puncak yang merupakan puncak dari asetofenon dengan base peak m/z 105 dan vanilin dengan base peak m/z 151.

Synthesis of compounds in accordance with the principles of green chemistry is called green-synthesis, one of which is a grinding technique that provides relatively short time and environmentally friendly. This research was carried out for the synthesis and characterization of compounds chalcone derivatives from vanillin and setophenone through Claisen-Schmidt condensation reaction using grinding techniques with variations of mole NaOH catalysts. The synthesis of target compounds was carried out by grinding vanillin, acetophenone and NaOH. Grinding technique is a mixing technique by mashing reactants and catalysts in mortar for 30 minutes at room temperature. In this study the mole variation of NaOH catalyst used was 2.5; 5; 7.5 and 10 mmol. The crystal of synthesis results were measured for melting point, chemical tests were carried out and identification using Thin Layer Chromatography, Spectrophotometer Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) and Kromatografi Gas-Mass Spectrometer.
The results showed that the product of synthesized result at various mole of NaOH catalyst obtained the different randemen. Variations 1, 2, 3 and 4, respectively, are found in 58.2; 59.2; 65 and 64.2%. Each variation of product results has similarities, ranging from physical properties with the yellow crystals with a melting point of 65-75 ℃. Soluble product in ethanol and chloroform. In the chemical analysis when added to the NaOH base solution has changes color from yellow crystalline product into solution with orange color. The results of TLC on UV lamps are 366 nm show that on 1st spot with blue colour suspected the vanillin compound with Rf value of 0.54 and the 2nd spot with green color suspected as the target compound with Rf value of 0.58 to 0.6. The FTIR spectra of the product indicate the presence of -OH groups (3477 cm -1 ) and (3180 cm -1) , -C=C aromatic (1511 and 1430 cm -1 ), -C=O aldehydes (1668 cm -1 ), -CH aldehyde (2861 cm -1 ), and –COC (1267 cm -1 ). The results of the KG-SM chromatogram obtained 2 peaks which are peaks of acetophenone with base peak m/z 105 and vanillin with base peak m/z 151.
