Abstract
INDONESIA:
Sangat penting bagi para petani utuk mengetahui batas maksimal kadar air pada hasil panen guna memenuhi standar yang ditetapkan, karena kadar air pada bulir padi dapat mempengaruhi kualitas dalam hal simpan maupun jual beli. Untuk itu dibuat prototype alat ukur kadar air menggunakan metode kapasitif. Konsep kapasitor yang digunakan dalam sensor kapasitif adalah proses menyimpan dan melepas energy listrik dalam bentik muatan-muatan listrik yang dipengaruhi oleh luas permukaan, jarak dan bahan dielektrikum. Sensor kapasitif yang digunakan menggunakan dua plat sejajar yang terbuat dari pcb dengan ukuran 5mmx5mm dengan diameter jarak 1mm, yang dihubungkan pada arduino sebagai mikroprosesornya dan ditampilkan pada lcd.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari mengkaji prinsip kapasitif, yang memanfaatkan perubahan kapasitansi akibat perubahan kadar air diubah menjadi nilai frekuensi. Perubahan frekuensi kemudian dideteksi dan digunakan untuk mengetahui kadar air. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian diperoleh bahwa alat yang dibuat dapat mengukur kadar air bulir padi dari 1,49% sampai 35,26% dengan rata-rata kesalahan sebesar 23,26%.

It is very important for farmers to know the maximum limit of water content in their yields in order to meet the standard set since the water content in rice grains may affect their quality for both their storage and trade. Thus, the prototype of the measuring instrument is worth to be constructed by employing the capacity method. The capacitor concept which is used in the capacity censor is the process of saving and releasing electrical energy in the form of electrical charge influenced by the area, the distance and the material of dielectric. The capacity censor used in the study is constructed by utilizing two parallel plates made from pcb which dimension is 5mm x 5mm and 1mm in diameter, then they are connected to arduino as their microprocessor and displayed on the lcd.
The objectives of the study are to find and review the principle of capacity which utilizing the capacitance change due to the changes of water content in the rice grains converted to a frequency value. After that, the frequency changes are detected and then they are used to determine the grains water content. The study resulted that the instrument constructed can measure the rice grains water content from 1,49% up to 35,26% by 23,26% average error.
