Pengaruh Meaningful Learning Ausubel terhadap motivasi belajar tematik bagi siswa kelas V SDN Bareng 3 Malang

ABSTRAK

Teori Ausubel merupakan salah satu teori kognitif yang dicetuskan oleh tokoh psikologi kognitif bernama David P. Ausubel. Inti dari teori Ausubel adalah belajar bermakna. Belajar bermakna merupakan suatu proses dikaitkannya informasi baru pada konsep-konsep yang relevan yang terdapat dalam struktur kognitif seseorang. Pada teori Ausubel, terdapat dua dimensi belajar. Pertama; belajar dengan penemuan/penerimaan dan kedua; belajar dengan hafalan/bermakna. Belajar bermakna akan sangat selaras dengan konsep pembelajaran tematik, karena ketika siswa belajar tematik maka belajar akan lebih bermakna jika anak mengalami langsung apa yang dipelajarinya dengan mengaktifkan lebih banyak indera dalam pembelajaran. Hal ini juga akan berpengaruh pada motivasi belajar tematik siswa. Motivasi adalah perubahan energi dalam diri seseorang yang ditandai dengan munculnya “feeling” dan didahului dengan tanggapan terhadap adanya tujuan.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) Seberapa besar tingkat motivasi belajar tematik siswa kelas VC yang menerapkan teori Ausubel dan motivasi belajar tematik siswa kelas VA yang tidak menerapkan teori Ausubel; (2) menjelaskan perbedaan motivasi belajar tematik siswa kelas VC yang menerapkan teori Ausubel dan kelas VA yang tidak menerapkan teori Ausubel.

Untuk mencapai tujuan di atas, digunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen. Dalam penelitian ini, termasuk dalam jenis penelitian eksperimen kuasi. Desain penelitian ini adalah Control-group post test only design dengan menggunakan sampel sebanyak 2 kelas, kelas VA dan VC SDN Bareng 3 Malang. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji homogenitas dan analisis uji Independent Sample T-test.

Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Tingkat motivasi belajar tematik siswa pada kelas kontrol termasuk dalam kriteria tinggi dan berdasarkan jumlah data maka rata-rata hasil angket motivasi kelas kontrol sebanyak 75,66. Tingkat motivasi belajar tematik siswa pada kelas eksperimen termasuk dalam kriteria tinggi dan berdasarkan jumlah data maka rata-rata hasil angket motivasi kelas eksperimen sebenyak 79,96. (2) Terdapat perbedaan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hal ini dibuktikan oleh hasil analisis uji Independent Sample T-test dengan output nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,033. Sesuai dengan dasar pengambilan keputusan perbandingan nilai Probabilitas (Sig.), maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa 0,033 < 0,05, maka Ha diterima yang artinya adalah motivasi belajar tematik siswa kelas V yang menerapkan teori Ausubel lebih tinggi daripada motivasi belajar tematik kelas V yang tidak menerapkan teori Ausubel.

ABSTRACT

Ausubel theory is one of the cognitive theories that triggered by cognitive pshychologist named David P. Ausubel. The essence of Ausubel theory is meaningful learning. Meaningful learning is a process of linking the new information to relevant concepts contained in a person’s cognitive structure. In Ausubel theory, there are two dimensions of learning. First; learning with discovery/acceptance and Second; root learning/meaningful learning. Meaningful learning will be very harmonious with thematic learning concept because when students learn thematic, the learning process will be more meaningful if children experience directly what he should learn by activating more senses in learning. This will also affect student’s learning motivation. Motivaton is a change of energy in someone’s self by the emergence of “feeling” and preceded by a response to the existence of goals.

This study aims to describe: (1) How much the level of students’ thematic motivation of VC students applying Ausubel theory and thematic learning motivation of VA class who do not apply Ausubel theory, (2) To explain the difference of thematic learning motivation of VC class students applying Ausubel theory and VA class, which do not apply Ausubel theory.

To achieve the above objectives, a quantitative research approach with experimental research is used. This study is quasi-experimental research type study. The design of this research is Control-group post test only design using two class samples, VA class and VC class of SDN Bareng 3 Malang. Method of the data analysis used is homogeneity test and analysis of Independent Sample T-test.

The result of research indicate that: (1) The level of students’ thematic motivation in control class is included in high criteria and based on the amount of the data, the average result of motivation questionnaire control class is 75.66. The level of students’ thematic motivation in the experimental class included in the high criteria and based on the amount of the data, the average result of questionnaire motivation experimental class is 79.96. (2) There is difference between the experimental class and the control class. This is proved by the results of the Independent Sample T-test with the output Sig. value (2-tailed) of 0.033. In accordance with the basic decision-making ratio Probability value (Sig.). It can be concluded that 0.033 < 0.05. Then the Hypothesis alternative (Ha) is accepted which means that the thematic learning motivation of grade V students who aplly Ausubel theory is higher than the motivation of thematic learning of grade V students who does not apply the theory of Ausubel.
